Guest guest
Lots of people have success with Craig and then as soon as they stop they gain the weight right back. The reason most people eat poorly is because they don't plan their meals. That is why JC is so successful. It's appealing to people who don't want to think about what to eat, they just want what's going to make them lose weight without having to think about it. The problem is that JC foods are not organic, contain chemicals your body doesn't need, and if you don't get in the habit of food preparation and planning yourself, as soon as you quit the food you will get into your same habits. If you eat whole organic fruits and vegetables, nuts, natural lean meats, etc. 5-6 times a day, you will lose weight. You don't need JC for that. If you need the accountability to stick with it, there are other programs for that or do it with a friend (or your daughter). Dieting is never healthy, especially when it's something you will eventually go off. Change your eating habits according to what your body really needs and you will be much healthier AND lose weight. Here is a suggested food list for you: https://www.releasingfat.com/healthy_lifestyle_6.asp Good luck! Guest guest
Definitely be careful on JC...Most everyone I know who was on it ended up with gallstones. If you preplan your meals, measure everything and stick to it....you can do it without spending all that money on JC. If you go with the outside aisles of the supermarket you are best off....meats and produce. Though organic is better, its not an option for everyone.I know for me, its hard enough feeding a family of 6 off of $300 a month, organic simply isnt in our budget, not to mention we would have to drive at least an hr away to get some. Guest guest
If you're looking at one with accountability that will help you choose better foods try weight watchers points. It basically forces you to plan to eat better foods and teaches you that you can enjoy foods that are good for you and lose weight. If you don't want to spend the money on their programme and going to meetings see if anyone you know has a copy of the guidlines and photocopy it and see how it works for you. Basically you can follow this one and not eat sugar or simple carbs as you get to choose the food. Pre packaged food is probably one of the worst things for you as there's lots of added chemicals that your body could do without. Organic food is probably better for you but if you're like the majority of people who don't have the means to spend that kind of money on it then don't get tied up into knots about it. The way it helps is that the majority of veggies are very low to no points so you can fill up on your greens and you haven't blown your points for the day. It does allow carbs but it pushes you towards whole grains as they're worth less points as well. It helps to teach you what to eat that's not going to make you gain weight. No I'm not a weight watcher's memeber or seller of their stuff. I photocopied the programme and followed the suggestions and lost 30lbs in about 6 months or less. It's not as strict as the candida diet but you can taylor it to match that and still eat real food. eviemaddox <evie@...> wrote: . Guest guest
The reason people succeed on this type diet is because you pay good money to be told what to eat. They make you accountable and because you are on a restricted amount of calories you will somtimes lose weight. The foods they let you eat are not healthy and they are still using old food pyramid guides and even the new ones are a joke. Why do you want to pay someone to tell you what to eat when what they want you to eat is no good for you??? I help people all the time with diet and weight loss and don't charge them anything You have to want to lose weight, its all about lifestyle changes and thats all JC is helping you do is create new habits. If you want to keep doing it, just eliminate the foods you know will hurt you. -- Craig diet vs candidiasis My daughter and I have both gone on the Craig diet plan but every meal has some form of bread and some sugars...since we both need to lose the weight and the program seems logical with much success for so many [my daughter is doing great] but I don't know which way to turn. For the longest time I have discontinued sugar, all flours and white rice and now they are all back in my diet [as is the itching]. As many of you may know the program is very expensive.... any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.....thanks
Guest guest
WW is horrible. They mean good, but when you have people so consumed with points that they will starve all day so that they can have Krispy Kreme doughnuts for dinner, it is not working. WW is a diet. People go hungry. They give points for everything, good food and bad food, and teach that as long as you don't go over your points you will be fine. That is not so. You should not go hungry while you are trying to lose weight- limiting calories will make you hungry. If you eat the right foods, and eat small portions all day, you will lose weight. Guest guest
I don't think you can blame the plan for people still eating poorly. That's a choice not forced on you. I've got to say I've never gone hungry while adhering to a points system. No matter what way you want to " control " your eating habits it's ultimately up to the individual to choose how. Believe me if you don't enjoy going hungry then you won't. No matter what way you choose to alter your eating habits. No offense meant to you personally but if people want to cheat themselves and acting like bleating sheep then they will. I don't think it has anything to do with any eating plan that anyone follows it has to do with a person making a good or bad decision about what they're going to stuff down their pie holes. If you're serious about losing weight and eating a healthy diet you can learn to via whatever method suits. She was looking for a way to have accountability and this is just one method that may or may not work for her. She wanted a plan where she could avoid the processed foods. This one allows you to make your own choices and cook you own food assuming as an adult your capable of doing so. If your points allotment for the day is 25 and you blow 9 of them on a piece of chocolate cake that was your fault not the diet plan. If people are going to make bad choices they're going to do it no matter what they try to follow whether it's simply the message to eat healthy or something else. Perhaps they need a little push in the right direction to eating healthy. It's not rocket science if you want to be full you eat more of the stuff that is no or low points throughtout the day. eviemaddox <evie@...> wrote: WW is horrible. Guest guest
I did WW for 6 months and ended up gaining 20lbs on it. I work out 5 days a week, and followed it to a T. The instructors at the meetings were confused because I was following it just as I was supposed to. I kept everything balanced. THe only thing I saw was that their carbs are less points than protein. Which means to be able to have a bit more to eat, I went for more healthy carbs (whole wheats, fruits, and some veggies), instead with my body I need more proteins than those carbs. When I eat normal meals according to the food pyramid, I can gain 10 lbs in just a few days, takes me much longer to lose them though! Ive been seriously trying to lose weight for 3 yrs (actually 9 but had 3 pgs through that!). I cant eat the carbs...breads, pastas or fruits, or I can count on a weight gain. I eat a lot of salads... yet one bite of a muffin, will put me up 5lbs for 3-4 weeks. WW is good as it does give people accountablility... with a world full of supersize and triple portions..many people dont know what a regular serving size is. WW does wake this up. I just dont agree with all their carbs and such. And I still love my chocolate...if I was told I could never have it again, oh boy, watch out! I know if Im told I cant have somehting, Im going to eat it and over indulge in it. When I can have small amounts at certain times, I do much better. Guest guest
Have you heard about the carbohydrate addict diet. For some weight watchers this one seems to be really helping. There is a web site. I've noticed for me that about the time I began having candida issues I became more sensitive to energy (auras, thoughts etc) and also began craving carbs more. Perhaps there is a genetic link to carb craving. Willem eviemaddox wrote: >WW is horrible. Guest guest
Hi all, I had a similar experience with Nutrisystem. When I ate the carbs I gained amazing amounts of weight each week! With WW I could not lose weight no matter what I ate. I have since been diagnosed with wheat, egg, cheese and yeast allergies and have been told that the weight gaining is not uncommon at all when eating foods you are allergic or sensitive to. Since food allergies are common amonst candida folk, maybe you would benefit from looking into it? I found South Beach to be the healthiest for those with " carb reactions " . That is actually how I first discovered I had some carb issues. I cut all of them out (except veggies and just alittle fruit) and felt better than I could ever remember feeling! Hope it helps!
