Is it " peanuts " that have the mold connection? I have seen other nut butters and would love to hear ideas that might work, such as almond or hazelnut. One more nut question, what is the word on pistachios? Somehow think they have a story. We've been giving her those too... > Thanks, > Kari > Re: To Kari > > > I know. Having knowledge though is way more important, because we all know it is emotionally draining to be fighting some ghost you just can't seem to get your arms around. But good news is we are finally at the point where I can actually test things out. Guest guest
Well may have just answered my own question. Gave her pistachios this morning, and she is either reacting to peanut butter from last night and/or pistachio's from this morning. Or probably a bit of both. Now with the signs starting to really see the difference between when the yeast is irratated from mold and when it is being fed. Either way no fun. I think the mold way makes her act more like a mean drunk. Anyone have any thing they take to calm things down in there when they are feeling it mentally? I know for die off, some people recommend charcoal to absorb the toxins. Just this seems different. Thanks, Kari Peanuts/Nuts in general One more nut question, what is the word on pistachios? Guest guest
Kari - I don't know if it will help but two different (natural) practitioners have suggested sodium bicarbonate/potassium bicarbonate fto calm my bad my " episodes " . Actually, it's an antacid. The bottle I'm looking at now is called Alka-Aid " and says is " relieves heartburn, sour stomach and acid indigestion " . Well, in my case when I react to a food, its complete exhaustion - my stomach doesn't " feel " acidy or anything, but taking the antacid seems to help in my case. I was told to swallow two of these every half hour and not to exceed 20 tablets a day. Peanuts/Nuts in general > One more nut question, what is the word on pistachios? Guest guest
Both as in peanuts AND other nuts, or peanuts and peanut butter. I've heard from many different sources that most nuts are ok except peanuts, walnuts and pistachios (something to do with they split?) Guest guest
Hi Kari, I am a just beginning Newbie for the candidiasis however, I am a trained chef and a practitioner of herbal medicine (you'd think I would have clued into this candida thing years ago when I started getting sick, oh, well) regarding nut butters for your daughter, your best bet is to stay away from commercially made butters, even from health food stores, as your daughter seems to be extremely sensitive, and make your own. You can buy the nuts your daughter seems to have the least trouble with and in a blender (best smooth) or a food processor (crunchy) blend small batches of natural butters that should not be a problem for your daughter. My son has a low level milk allergy and until I started experimenting with making some of his favorites myself, he kept having symptoms. Now his asthma has decreased and he is able to recover much more quickly when he does develop respiratory infections. Best of luck, sounds like you are a wonderful mom.
