Guest guest
Does anyone have any tasty ways they use coconut oil? I thought about blending it in a yogurt smoothie but since it's solid when it's cold then I figure it would just clump up in the drink? I was thinking maybe the best way is to just warm it up a little and take a tablespoon with my meal instead of trying to cook with it. I don't actually care for the flavor so I'm not sure I'd want to cook with it anyway. Also I read somewhere that to work up to three tablespoons a day is good. Does that sound right? Guest guest
HI Charisse: I can't give you any wonderful ways to cook with coconut oil but I just wanted to address the flavor aspect. I'm with you - I don't like the taste of it. Mainly because I don't like coconut. However, I have found that when I cook with it, I don't really notice the flavor. For instance, I often toss some veggies in a couple of Tbspns of CO and bake in the overn. Yummy, and not a trace of coconut flavor. And on the daily amount - 2 to 3 Tablespoons daily sounds about right. ways to use coconut oil? > Does anyone have any tasty ways they use coconut oil? Guest guest
Penny I actually do like coconut flavoring but the coconut oil doesn't taste the same to me. I bought the kind that is recommended by Dr. Mercola so I know it's pure. Thanks for the feedback. I'll try it with veggies. Guest guest
Hi all, I am new to this group and was noticing your coconut oil discussion. How does coconut oil help? Does it kill the yeast? Guest guest
Hi Joanne: Yes, coconut oil is considered antifungal. But in addition, it is probably one of the healthiest oils you can consume and the best one for saute-ing (as opposed to " frying " , lol) Also, the best news is that it isn't fattening - apparently it's not stored by the body but used for energy. For more on fats try www.westonaprice.org Cheers - p Re: Re: ways to use coconut oil? > > Hi all, > I am new to this group and was noticing your coconut oil discussion. How does coconut oil help?
