Guest guest
Hi , With antifungals like Diflucan, etc, the candida builds up a resistance to them which is why they stop working. I too was on Diflucan for years, to no avail. What most people here have found is that you need to use and rotate natural antifungals, every 4 days. Some natural antifungals include Garlic, Pau D'Arco, Grapefruit Seed Extract, etc. Chris
Guest guest
Did you feel any better on Diflucan? I've heard that people often have to be on an antifungal for weeks, not days. But it's hard to get a doctor to prescribe an antifungal in that much volume. As for the knees, I wake up every morning feeling like I've been hit by a truck - all of my joints ache. And like you, I'm not used to feeling so poor, but after suffering for 7 years, I've almost forgotten what it feels like to be healthy. Good luck and I hope you start feeling better. > Does anyone know what medicine I should ask for when I go back to my > doctor and tell him two doses of Diflucan plus Monistat did not > work. Guest guest
I was told by my doctor, that I would need to be on antifungles for at least 6 months, and a different doctor told me that for every antibiotic that you take you should take a antifungle. Guest guest
I was trying just to lurk but I have to put my two cents worth in on this one. I had an open-ended prescription for Diflucan for years. And used off and on for years. Sure, it would " cure " my vaginal yeast problems - for awhile - but in time the Candida got systemic and the Diflucan lost its effectiveness. You're masking the symptoms with Diflucan. To get " control " you have to do it the " natural " way. Re: Effectiveness of diflucan > Did you feel any better on Diflucan? Guest guest
Nystatin helped me and has no serious side effects. I took a teaspoon 4 times a day it for two months. Effectiveness of diflucan Does anyone know what medicine I should ask for when I go back to my doctor and tell him two doses of Diflucan plus Monistat did not work. I have had this problem since July and it is starting to depress me. I am eating lots of fresh garlic, taking acidolphilus, selenium, garlic oil, chromium, C, E, A, B-complex, zinc (all from Puritan's pride). I have ordered inulin, as well. I am not used to having problems with my health. Right now, both my knees are killing me. They are very sore - what I think 80 yrs old would feel like. Is this a symptom of yeast? Thank you. >I'm not sure if I misunderstood you, Kari, but Diflucan is an >antifungal, not an antibiotic. Just wanted to clear that up. But >you are correct - Diflucan is a strong antifungal. Guest guest
My unprofessional thoughts: Diflucan goes into the bloodstream (unlike oral Nystatin which stays in the gastointestinal tract), so it can be effective for disseminated symptoms, however, I have been reading articles where fungal infections are becoming resistant to fluconazole (Diflucan). What did you mean by the " natural way " ? I'm kind of new to this group, so I probably would already know this if I had been around longer. > > > Does anyone know what medicine I should ask for when I go back to > > my > > > doctor and tell him two doses of Diflucan plus Monistat did not > > > work.
