Even if we can't have the pickle, because of the candida. I would think the

Anyone have any opinions.

The problem with the pickle is it is in vinegar and that is fermented -

feeds the candida. I'm not sure if fermented things feed more or less than

sugar. My naturopath said if I feel forced to cheat, eat a baked potato.

I have heard that sauerkraut can do the same for sugar cravings. Naturally

fermented sauerkraut (doesn't contain vinegar and shouldn't be heated

afterwards, like the canned stuff) should actually be good to eliminate candida,

I would think. It might be hard to find though. We have someone at our local

farmer's market selling it.

Supposedly anything fermented is bad, but has never bothered me. From what I

have read, things like pickles only really bother 1% of candida sufferers, so

there's no reason for the other 99% to not eat them.

According to The Body Ecology Diet, anything fermented is very good! It is like

taking probiotics but in whole food form. Pickles made with vinegar bought in a

jar from the store are not fermented.

All I know if I was told by my naturopath not to eat vinegar or anything

containing vinegar. She said it feeds candida.

Vinegar is very bad for you if you have candida. It would be just as

bad as sugar, rather find something you can actually have as a snack.

Yes, I believe it is a myth that vinegar, soy sauce, etc. feed candida. They

probably only affect 1% of candida sufferers.

I tried something with vinegar and I can't say it did me any good. But

never mind the vinegar, most bottles of pickles contain all kinds of

other chemicals - read the labels.

Even a little acidity produced by the lactic acid bacteria

lactobacilli, and the acetic acid bacteria bifidobacteria, handily

suppresses candida and other growth in the bowel.

Vinegar contains many times more acidity.

It has to be a myth.

Hi,

I'm curious about the vinegar issue too. There seem to be harsh

vinegars (which when I use them make me FEEL like they're wreaking

havoc on my system) and milder vinegars (like ume). Aren't some

reputed to be good for the gut? Is it possible, some are better

than others?
