Guest guest
Hi Sara, Are you saying that you had this " swimmy " head feeling before starting the diet? Dizziness is a symptom of candida. Fresh ginger root from the health food store, sliced and covered with boiling water to make a tea often helps nausea and may help this symptom (only 2-3 slices per cup-it's pretty strong tasting). Your " swimmy " head could be the result of candida toxins from the yeast in your blood stream. Be sure that you are drinking lots of filtered water, a cup or more of warm water every hour(two 1st thing in the morning) or more if possible, to cleanse your system. However, don't drink during the half hour before eating or with your meal, if you can, or even after eating for a couple hours so that your digestive juices can work with your food without being diluted. Also, I wonder what makes up your anti-candida diet and program. I ask that because some people go on such a strict program that they may not be getting enough calories or nutrients. That can also cause the symptom of a " swimmy " head feeling. Plus, you may be killing off the yeast faster than your body can handle it well. Are you taking anti-fungals along with the diet? You may need to cut back on amounts. If you are getting your messages from this group by email, I hope that you will go the the group homepage at candidiasis/ and click on the word, " Files " on the left side of the screen. You will see a file called " A Good Starting Place for New People. " Click on that and read the information from g (excellent guidelines under the section " What worked, " Sandy (diet information) and Tony (many good links to anti-candida sites). I'm glad you are aware that you are getting better. It's good to keep a journal of symptoms and foods just for that purpose. Good luck and tell us more about your program after you read the files. Guest guest
Hi , thanks for your reply. My diet is basically mountains of vegetables and salads, porridge, rice milk, brown rice, chick peas, pulses, seeds, etc, and only some meats - chicken, veal, lamb; unfortunately I can't eat any fish as I feel sick or " drugged up " every time a have a bite of any type of fish. I am taking a lot of garlic and antifungals (spilanthes) and maybe as you say that explains the swimmy head feeling. I am also taking threelac, don't know if this works but I have seen different opinions posted on different forums. I do drink about 2 litres of water day, one cup of warm water first thing in the morning followed by a carrot and celery and broccoli juice. I will follow your tips on drinking more warm water though. Thanks again for your reply Sara Olson <sanols02@...> wrote: Hi Sara, Are you saying that you had this " swimmy " head feeling before starting the diet? Dizziness is a symptom of candida. Guest guest
Hi Sara, I've been getting the same reaction. I was on a candida diet for about a month (3-4 months ago), but fell off it. I just started seeing a new M.D. who takes a holistic approach and he told me to get back on the diet and added Nystatin (anti-fungal). I've been on that for two weeks now and notice the swimmy head feeling. I attribute it to the die-off effect that he said might occur. It's like an amplification of the dizziness I had before (especially when getting up quickly from sitting). I've also seen an increase in my psoriasis, but my mental state has been much better and I'm starting to see a decrease in asthma symptoms. Guest guest
I found that taking Ginko Biloba really helps this as it increases the flow of blood around the brain (something like that anyhow), my homeopath who has been treating me recommended it (he recommended Bioforce, as its pretty pure, i'm from england so not sure if you can get this brand) and after a couple of weeks of taking it really worked. Dizziness was one of my biggest symptoms and after a couple of weeks on it the dizziness disapearred. Guest guest
Hi Ally, Thanks for the suggestion I have actually thought of that before but the person who's treating me told me not to overload my body with too many supplements as it's a bit weak at the moment. But I will give it a go anyway, anything to help through the process. I do live in England too so I can get Bioforce's Gingko Biloba, so thanks again! Guest guest
Leesh, It's good to know that it only means that we're getting good results out of the diet. You couldn't have described it better when you say it's an amplification of the dizziness. As for my depression I'm still battling with that, although I must admit is not as bad as before but my chest still wheezes sometimes and I hope with time that will fade away too. Good luck with your treatment! Sara cyberleesh <cyberleesh@...> wrote: Hi Sara, I've been getting the same reaction. I was on a candida diet for about a month (3-4 months ago), but fell off it.
