Guest guest
I'm on medication - but not insulin.I have type 2 Diabetes - my blood sugars can be controlled by diet, when I eat properly. At this point I will have to lose weight and eat right for a while before I can get off my meds. Guest guest
Type 1 Diabeties requires the insulin shot because their pancreas is either impaired and doesn't produce enough or doesn't produce any of its own insuline. Which is why you often hear about them going into shock or a coma. Type 1 affects children. Type 2 " a prosperity disease " usually affects adults 40 and older after a lifetime of processed food (white sugar and flour) consumption. Their body still makes insulin but doesn't know how to handle it properly. The body will often go from too high to not enough. That's what causes the sugar cravings. After you come down from the sugar high, it drops too low and you crave sugar to bring it back up again. *8-) > Dumb question but if your diabetic doesn't your > blood sugar stay high > even though you don't eat, unless you take insulin? >
Guest guest
This mostly applies to people eating a diet of refined products. Simple carboydrates like white sugar, white flour, white pasta, and white rice all make your blood sugar go nuts. If you eat natural sugars like the ones from fruits and vegetables... the sugar is released much more slowly and your body handles it better and eventually goes back to a normal state. This is why many people who are hypoglycemic pass out all the time (lack of eating or at a sugar low). I used to pass out all the time if I just woke up and didn't eat anything and rush to get to school or work. As with most problems: candidas, diabetes, hypoglcymia, chronic fatigue, etc, all can be fixed eventually with a diet of whole foods and no refined processed products. Unfortunatly, refined simple carbs have no benefits to our health. They even rob our body of vital nutrients just so our body can properly digest them. *8-) --- youngjaem <youngjaem@...> wrote: > So if a person doesn't eat their body will go into a > hypoglycemic > state? Guest guest
I must point out that for me, some fruits are too sweet & I can get head rushes just like I would from those bite size brownies I love soooo much, but my body can't take. : ( Sorry I might have gotten someone's mouth salivating LOL The ND clinic said take fruit in moderation when you have bad candida. Thanks Re: Re: , 3 meals a day/Candace This mostly applies to people eating a diet of refined products. Guest guest
Hi , If you look on the glycemic index http://www.diabetesnet.com/diabetes_food_diet/glycemic_index.php You will see fruits with a number next to them. The ones with lower numbers should no effect you as much. While fruit elimination is good for the first stage of candida diet, afterwards you should eat some. 40% veggie 30% fruit 30% protein is what I am trying now. I only eat fruit 30 mins before breakfast and lunch and I only eat protein for breakfast and sometimes a little with lunch. I just started this diet; I'll let ya'll know how it goes. I just figured out kamut and spelt bread were giving me major problems . > Re: Re: , 3 meals a day/Candace > > I must point out that for me, some fruits are too sweet & I can get head > rushes just like I would from those bite size brownies I love soooo much, > but my body can't take. : ( Sorry I might have gotten someone's mouth > salivating LOL > > The ND clinic said take fruit in moderation when you have bad candida. > > Thanks > > > > > Re: Re: , 3 meals a day/Candace > > > This mostly applies to people eating a diet of refined > products.
