Guest guest
An MD I saw once in Feb., who was lenient with the diet, allowed these liquors: (cognac), Bourbon, Scotch, Vodka, Gin and White Rum. If I still wanted an occasional cocktail, I would probably have some Vodka. Maybe if you give up the BC pills, vinegar, and drink purified water, you could cheat with wine on occasion. I'm not drinking and I feel buzzed at times! Good luck, Beth New to group I'm so frustrated with this candida. I've had it for 25 years. I didn't know what it was till about 14 years ago. I remember when I was 15 my mom took me to the Dr. becuase I had scratched my butt raw. He said it was yeast and gave me a topical ointment. Ten years later and sick as a dog I went through an elimination diet. Quit eating all those foods and started to feel better. I managed to kick it for 3 years which required a major life change - a back to the land venture which didn't last. It's just an incredible amount of self disciple to not eat the wrong food - especially if you have to eat out and live in this world. And take the medicines - 3 to 4 different ones 3-4 times a day - every day or I'll get a flare up. I've run the gamet on the over the counter stuff. Raw garlic (no wonder I'm single), GSE, acidophilus, caprical (sp.), homeopathic, pau'd arco, burdock tea, goldenseal, some new herbal extract mixture I found with black walnut extract, if there's something I'm missing I can't remember. I've been subject to really bad mood swings which now I take meds for - which is probably a yeast symptom. I think I'm to the point of taking a prescription antifungal but I'm really scared of that. I wonder if it will interact with the meds I'm already on. I heard they were really hard on the liver. And I wonder if they really work. I mean if I take one and for how long will I be cured? Or will it just be another pill to take till I die? I'm really down on the how thing and feeling like a freak and just wanna be normal and not have to say " um, no. i can't eat that. i can't drink that. i can't smell that. i can't breathe that. Guest guest
What about Saki. Since it is made from Rice with less gluten, would it be a better choice? Just curios! The skinny on purified water is that people should be particularly concerned with arsenic content as arsenic is a metabolic suppressor that is known to directly cause cancer and diabetes, at chronic but low exposures. This is in addition to its known suppression of mitochondrial energy production thus its implication in all of the autoimmune disorders and mitochondial disorders that manifest that condition of low ATP production. Brita filters, like most others, do not remove arsenic from drinking water, and asenic occurs in most bottled water too. The EPA has just dropped exposure limits to 10 PPB, but that level still increases cancer risk for example to about 1 in 1,000. Scientists state .5 PPB causes biological interference. Guest guest
Wine is like poison if you have candida. Not only is it full of sugar (alcohol is a sugar), but it is full of chemicals of all kinds (unless you are drinking an organic wine). I would not suggest vodka either as it has as much sugar as ice cream! You would be better off eating fruit than drinking alcohol. I know this is an older post, but just getting to it here Just wanted to add that alcohol in ANY form is the absolute WORST thing you can ingest for Candida. Avoid at all costs!! P.S.
