Guest guest
I thought I would post here to see what advice you could all give me. I have ME/CFS, intermittent irritable bowel, gallstones (gravel), self-diagnosed reactive hypoglycaemia and, I believe, candiasis, all of which are related, IMHO. I follow a low-carb diet because it helps with my energy levels and gets rid of acid reflux which I tend to get on a regular intake of carbs. My most urgent concern at the moment are the gallstones because of the threat of surgery (it's not too imminent as they won't operate because of my weight - 286 lbs). I would like to do a gallbladder flush and set out to do one tonight BUT I've taken some cleansing herbs I have in the house (about 2 years old now - consisting of senna leaf, fennel, buckthorn and psyllium) for the past 2 nights. During the night I woke feeling dizzy and was dizzy again when getting up today. I definitely feel as if the problem is in my gut. I've been having severe IBS griping pains off and on. Because of this I've decided against fasting in preparation for the gallbladder cleanse, cos I'm feeling so light headed and dizzy, so have put that off for another day. Now that I'm writing this, I'm confused about what I want to ask! Here are some things I'm thinking about: I am keen to do some kind of bowel cleanse that would get rid of the build-up over the years, but am concerned about its effect on my ME (I've heard it can make PWC quite ill) and to help get rid of the candida. I also can't afford the treatment. I don't feel able to stick to a candida diet at the moment and am wanting to stick to low-carb, for just now. Whenever I've had a gallbladder attack, it's been preceded by eating high carbs and I'm experimenting to see if low-carb alone will keep the gallbladder attacks at bay (I know this goes against the grain!). I guess I'd like to ask what advice any of you could give me about what to do and in what order. Would dealing with the candidiasis help the gallstones? Would do a liver flush help the candidiasis? There's no doubt I have some kind of dysbiosis. Any comments on what I'm already doing and/or what I could do instead would be very welcome! I should also add that I'm on state benefits (I'm in the UK) and have no money to spare for expensive supplements. At the moment I'm taking cheap versions of Vit C (2000 mg/day), Omega 3 and acidophilus (in tablet form so I'm not convinced it works but it's all I can afford) which cost me about £10 a month. I'm also treating my adrenals with Isocort but I don't know if that is relevant to this discussion. Sorry this is a bit long, I'm not having much luck ordering my thoughts today! Alison (all this talk of my digestive system finally made me go to the loo in the middle of editing this! Hallelujah!)
