Guest guest
I am SO fed up with all of this. I've been diagnosed with Candida, and depression. And I've been trying to figure out how to " cure " it for years now. WHAT is the answer? To start here are my problems: 1-acne 2-fatigue 3-depression 4-sugar " addiction " 5-improper diet For the most part, I have eliminated white flour and " fungus " from my diet. I dont eat cheese, mushrooms, fruit etc. However...what is still causing my problems? I'm still un-able to comletely elinate the sugar. Why? What do I have to do to quit those cravings? How do you eat healthy and still be on the run all the time? I dont have time to cook and prepare meals a week in advance. Typical day of food I'll consume are: *almonds *graham crackers *cottage cheese *canned chicken *v-8 (low sodium) *coffee with cream and splenda *popcorn *peanut butter I know I need to add variety and make some adjustments but I'm too darn tired to figure all this out. I've bought books, tried different treatments. What REALLy works? What REALLY is the solution?
Guest guest
Hi, . First, graham crackers are white flour, unless you are getting some made with whole grains from a health food store. With acne and sugar cravings, I would think about eliminating all dairy and wheat/gluten (even whole grains). For me, when I was consuming any wheat/white flour, I would crave sugar. When I eliminated the gluten, dairy, and sugar from my diet, I had awful withdrawal for a few days. After that, the cravings went away. Even just having a bit, like the graham crackers you mentioned, can be enough to set off a sugar craving, at least for me. You might want to try eliminating corn, because it is a common allergen as well. You also might be craving sugar because you aren't getting enough protein in your diet. Have you done any elimination diets to find food sensitivities? With your symptoms, you likely have some, probably many. Peanut butter is high in mycotoxins and not recommended for a Candida diet. Try switching to almond butter. It also looks like your vegetable intake is extremely low. I find that eating meat and veggies really are quick meals. If you bake a chicken, pork chops, etc., you can reheat those the next day for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner along with a veggie or two. Salads with leftover chicken are easy to eat on the go, use lemon juice and olive oil instead of commercial salad dressings. I will post what I ate yesterday so that you can get an idea. Breakfast: leftover homemade beef and veggie soup Lunch: family made brat (no bread or condiment) with raw cauliflower and salsa Dinner: broiled salmon (with red coconut curry sauce) and green beans Snacks: sunflower seeds, sliced tomato (usually I snack on raw veggies and nuts) I typically put coconut oil on my veggies. It really is easy. If you can't cook the meat for each meal, just cook it the night before. Maybe every evening you can cook your meat for the next day. Some meats, like chicken and turkey, are good cold. So far, the most involved things I have made are the homemade soup and chili that I have on the stove right now. Oh, I should mention that leftovers are supposed to be a no-no when on a Candida diet, but I haven't made it that far yet. I never eat anything past 3 days anyway at least. Are you taking an antifungal and probiotic? HTH! -Olif
Guest guest
So much of what you are eating is wrong: *almonds - do you soak them in lemon or other anti-fungal or do you roast? *graham crackers - you should eliminate all wheat and gluten from your diet *cottage cheese - you should eliminate all dairy from your diet *canned chicken - canned foods can contain mold. Do you heat thoroughly? *v-8 (low sodium) - what is this? Is it a fruit and veg canned juice? You should not be drinking juices of any kind, full of mould *coffee with cream and splenda - coffee is a major no-no - candida loves it *popcorn - as long as you are not allergic to it, no problem *peanut butter - commercial peanut butters are very bad for you, and contain lots of mould You should be eating lots of meat (if you can stomach it), lots and lots of veggies (60-80% of your diet) and a few carbohydrates (unrefined). I cook once a day, I make 4 or 5 different veggies (buy a commercial steamer, worth their weight in gold) - 4 steamed and one baked in the oven. I also make a huge salad and stir fry chicken and onions in olive oil. For dinner we eat chicken and the salad. Then, the next day I take veggies and brown rice or chicken to work in a lunch box. It takes some time, but it is worth it for the sake of my health. You will not recover unless you stop eating preprepared foods and starting cooking (preferably organic) foods at home. Keen Where/How do I start to " cure " this thing? I am SO fed up with all of this. I've been diagnosed with Candida, and depression. Guest guest
, You've answered your own question below - improper diet will continue to kill you slowly if you let it. The biggest cause of cravings in non-prediabetics and non- diabetics is mineral deficiency. The chief cause of sugar addiction in prediabetics and uncontrolled diabetics is glucose and insulin swings caused by the carbs. Duncan > I've been diagnosed with Candida, and depression. Guest guest
I agree with Duncan and am in the same situation you are but I also have Irritable bowel, Acid Reflux and anxiety. I've changed my diet slowly and have actually lost some weight and gained some energy. My acne isn't any better but my skin is very sensitive. I not longer eat anything with gluten, yeast or dairy. I don't have a lot of time to cook meals but to tell you the truth raw vegetables are the best. I started out with carrots, celery and spinach leaves. Whatever you do don't use regular salad dressing! It's FULL of junk. I use Grape Seed Oil and add non-gluten spice mixes. I still have a problem with cravings, especially when it's " that time of the month " . Do you take probiotics? I have to take them. A good quality brand with no gluten or lactose is recommended. Unfortunately the good ones usually are more expensive but they are worth it!!!!
