i am wondering if anyone has ever followed the body ecology diet? i am getting

ready to

start the anti-candida diet (again!) and am exploring different variations. it

is really

frustrating that there are so many different versions, i.e. some permit certain

legumes,

others don't. some permit certain soy products, others don't. etc., etc.

last time i undertook this i was brand new to it all. i just got the first book

i found, the

complete candida yeast guidebook, and followed it to the T. now i have read a

ton and

know that they are all different, with certain similarities (no sugar, no simple

carbs,

nothing fermented).

i did fine on jeanne marie martin's which permitted tofu and many beans and

sweet

potatoes.

a friend recommended the BED. has anyone tried it? what versions do you all

like?

also, i'm really curious if anyone knows how the anti-candida diet was

originally

developed?

also, is anyone in the Baltimore area? i really want a live person to talk to

all of this

about!!!

i hope everyone has a good day.

Hi there ,

I am not from Baltimore but South Africa, White River. I have only recently

found out about Candida after 4 years treatments

at several doctors, skin specialists and others that could not help me. I heard

of candida and the spent hours and hours

on the internet to read all about this. In SA there is not really doctors that

is treating candida. I also have this one complaint

and that is that every diet allows something the other diet did not. If you do

get a diet that works you can also email me direct

to gemini@...

Thank you

You are right - all the diets have some differences. All agree on NO SUGAR, NO

DAIRY except yogurt, no fruit at least at first and a few other things. Some say

no tomatos, some say no potatos, some say no corn, but I have been able to eat

them. You have to experiment and find the diet that works for you. You may be

sensitive to certain foods but not others. I eliminated sugar, wheat, dairy,

fruit (except a few raisins on my oat bran in the morning.) I experienced

immediate improvement, and improvement has been slow but fairly steady over the

last six months. I ate sausage and bacon, which are discouraged on most diets,

but it was too depressing to give them up. In any case I take l-glutamine which

dramatically reduces cravings, added yogurt and kefir. I sometimes at a piece of

chocolate candy, or mushrooms in small amounts, and I have been slowly but

steadily been getting better.

I am also in land - Frederick - about 45 min. west of Baltimore!

Hi - Sorry I haven't responded - I've been swamped with work. It's nice to

know you are relatively close. Liz
