Guest guest
It is definitely odd, don’t you think. If I read the “eat right for your blood-type,” I’m suppose to be vegetarian. I become anemic very easy, I feel nasty and I get weak. Doesn’t matter if I take supplements or not, I still get ill. At first I thought it was a detox thing, but even after months of following it, I just couldn’t function properly. I’ve weaned myself off of sugar, and white flour items. The next thing I’m going to do is gradually lower my fat intake. Switch from my normal maple bacon, to turkey bacon, and pull out as much butter as I can in place of olive oil – those types of things. As I progress, and increase my carbs I will bring in things like brown rice, whole grain breads and pastas – but limit them to two or three times a week to see how I respond. I will also start including berries, but that will be a while. I eventually want to be eating very healthy combination of fats, proteins and carbohydrates – just little as refined, processed foods as possible. I do not expect my lifestyle changes to happen over night, not even necessarily in a few months. It is going to have to be gradual for me, in order for me to stick with it. A lot of my changes will also depend on me getting a job. I want to start including more fish and seafood, as much organic foods as possible, and yoga classes. These will all require me to have more money than I do at this moment. I’m learning patience though (be careful what you pray for). I’m learning about meditating, and I’m taking what advice from this group I feel I can use now, while saving some for later. I've been a vegetarian before, and I got ill. I'm not going there again. I'm on Atkins right now and getting better. If it works for someone, I'm all for it, I just do not see me doing it again. Same here, Candace. I've tried vegetarian and became very ill. Only after I adopted a high-fat, low-carb way of eating was I able to function again. I have " The Metabolic Typing Diet " by Wolcott and Trish Fahey. It has a question and answer section to help you determine how you should eat. Seems to me to be a better way to go about it. Just my opinion, but I had gone on a low-carb diet before getting this book and the book did confirm that I would do better on that sort of diet. Hi , I bought one of those home blood-typing kits and it would seem I'm type O-negative. That's what my father is so I guess the test is probably right. Guest guest
Date: Sat, 21 Feb 2004 01:15:45 -0800 (PST) From: " M. " <puhutes@...> Hey that's cool.. Isn't -O one of the uncommon ones? Hmmm, I don't really know much about blood types, I only recently learned that mine is +A and for those eat right for your type people... that means vegetarian. I wonder what O means Hi , Yeah, depending on who you listen to, it's something like 6-7% of the population. Like you I don't really know much about blood types either. I only began to get interested when my friend loaned me the " Eat Right for Your Blood Type " tapes. That's what got me interested in learning what my blood type is. I don't remember the specifics and I've long since returned the tapes, but I remember that some of the foods I was supposed to do well on, I don't . . . and ones I was supposed to avoid, I seem to do fine on. Maybe I'm wrong and, of course, the candida probably screws up some of those recommendations. I guess it's an ongoing learning process as to what works for us, isn't it. For instance, for 5 days I've been drinking apple juice (I feel it's coming out of my ears!!) in preparation for my first liver flush. Tomorrow I do it. I sure hope it works well for me. Wish me luck!! ) Sherry (from Oregon)
