Guest guest
1) no-sugar/carb diet: The no sugar diet can help alleviate symptoms. It is important if you want to experience some relief. Remember, it's not a permanent solution. Once you have your symptoms under control, you want to commit to good health. Some people choose to skip the no sugar / carb diet. Instead they accept their symptoms and commit to a healthy lifestyle and heal over time. 2) nystatin and other anti-fungals: I'm no expert, but I've seen people on the list mention that nystatin kills all good and bad bacteria and yeasts. It will alleviate your vag. inf. but it will not help with leaky gut. Please check with your NP. Some people on the list use antifungals instead such as: oil of oregano, garlic, caprylic acid, olive leaf extract, ... etc. Use one for four days and then use another so that the yeast does not get used to it. I've heard these anti-fungals only attack the candida but do not attack the good bacteria. I have not used threelac. Only thing I've heard mentioned on this list is that it's pricey and that even though they claim it works without an anti-candida diet, it really doesn't work without the diet. 3) detox: I'm not sure what you can do to detox your body while taking anti-fungals. I'm still trying to figure this out. Some have mentioned the following techniques: epsom salt baths, colonics, liver flush, psyllium and bentonite for regularity or ground flaxseeds, relaxation techniques, drinking enough water, eating whole nutritious foods, getting enough sleep, ... etc. I hope this helps. good luck, sue. > I have a rare form of yeast infection of which i must take Nystain in it's many > forms for. I get back to normal very quickly. In my case it was the metro gel and Flagly that killed everything. I will continue to check the side effects of the Nystatin, which is NOT the most effective treatment for C.G. that is flucytosine, it's very expensive and has to be hand-made by the pharmacist. > 3) detox: I promise to be very Zen. I bought my probiotics here: http://www.customprobiotics.com/ harry is very nice. HB

They call it an antifungal. This seems to show that it's pretty specific to fungus and will probably not influence bacteria in the bowel, either bad or good. Actually the reverse is true; these are braod spectrum and they all kill bacteria, yeasts and even some viruses. So these will influence bacteria in the bowel, both bad and good, Duncan Crow

Other antioxidants are also useful for detox. Another thing you can use that is in the top three, is sweating. Your body's main organ of elimination is the skin. Also, using external methods, you can use ozone steam saunas which make you sweat but also the ozone breaks toxins and kills microscopic invaders directly. Not only that, insurance co. tend not to pay for long periods of this kind of meds. good luck
Guest guest
> Is nystain a prescription drug? It's an antifungal (broad spectrum). > anyways... what " rare " form do you have? Were you told > the name of this yeast? C.glabrata, which is becoming more common due to OTC anti-fungals and Diflucan. They are a bit harder to get rid of, but it is possible. They are also a pest because most Dr.'s don't think to look for it. You need to do a wet mount, look at it under a HIGH POWERED micoscope and run a KOH culture to specifically name it. I went to a specialist and she found it right away.
