I don't know about any work related to this, but ussually when the mucous

membranes are under challenge (for xample during a flu episode) produce a lot of

secretions, but In my chronic oral patients I never seen this before.

In the other hand some mucosal secretion have a high candidacidal activity

mainly saliva, althuogh in other mucosas the secretion are sinonimus of

infection I mean at the vaginal mucosal level, but in this mucosa the response

are quite diferent that in the oral mucosa.

taking togheter, it is low possible that the excess of secretion are due to oral

infection by candida, unless you have an infection at the lower respiratory

tract (lungs, or deep in the throat).

any good info, references on the reason for it?

Hi Al, I found your comments about mucous interesting.I am the same way.I

have been on the candida diet for 10 months and don't consume any dairy due

to a milk allergy.I can't seem to get rid of all the mucous.Donna

Yeah...Donna (and Laurie)...i know what ur talking about. Milk??? Oh

man...don't even ask. I've developed an aversion to milk and all

other dairy products. It's like...if anyone wants to know how they

can punish me the most...i'll tell them...give me milk to drink. I'm

just curious though...what specific symptoms do you have when you

drink milk or consume any other dairy products? As i've said

already...not only do i have a lot of mucous generally all the

time...but...it's even worse after consuming dairy...and i get this

weird, awful taste in my mouth and my tongue becomes white

and " icky. "

Donna...you said that you've been on the candida diet for 10

months...wow..that's amazing, at least for me...who is still trying

to be convinced that i do have candidiasis. Do you see any

improvement in your condition after being on the candida diet for 10

months? What other type(s) of treatment are you going thru, if any?

I hope you don't mind my asking...

Hi Donna

Mucus is the body's reaction to am irritant. Typically it is dairy, but also

often gluten (wheat, oats) is the cause. Have you tried to go on a

carbohydrate free diet for a while?

Hi Al,

I get low blood sugar when I consume dairy, it took me many years to figure this

out. When I would go on the Dr. Atkins diet I couldn't lose very much weight, I

would eat a low carb salad, and fall a sleep right after because of the ranch

dressing I would put on it. I was so addicted to ranch dressing and real cream

in my coffee. I would also bloat out and look about 6 months pregnant, I also

broke out with a yeast ringworm looking rash if I over did the dairy. I've

always had mucus problems until I cut out dairy and wheat, I did this following

the ER4YT diet.

When I first tried Atkins, I couldn't lose weight and it messed with my hormones

and my menstrual cycle was off.

I'm a blood type A, I have followed the program from ER4YT to LR4YT and I

couldn't lose weight at all as written. I have to cut carbs way back compared to

the typical A type diet.

A really good book for people who want to lose weight is the Metabolic diet by

Wolcott, it showed me that I really need to cut carbs to lose weight but not to

much or I will get to agitated. So basically I follow the food lists from the

blood type diet and cut my carbs down to a minimum. by doing some other

supplements I have gotten my Candidiasis under control very well.

Supposedly type O's basically have a harder time with Candidiasis.

Laurie

Re: Re: Is it just me???

Laurie,

I am sure I would do much better in the mucous dept if

I cut out dairy and possibly wheat. I did not cut out

dairy when I did Atkins. Maybe that was why I couldnt

lose weight . Who knows?

I did just dig out the E4YT diet book and ironically

since I am type O found it funny it was similar to the

candida diet. Have you beeen following it. Are you

type O. I also noticed it said we should limit molds

aka mushrooms. and vinegar. I guess another example of

no coincidences.

Hi Al,I was on many courses of antibiotics for recurrent throat infections

which were the result of the mouldy classsroom that I was in for the last 6

years .The last course of antibiotics was levaquin ,which is a very strong

antibiotic, and it caused me to develop oral thrush and chronic fatigue.I was

given one day of diflucan which caused massive die off.I laid on the

bathroom floor most of the night with abdominal pain.At the time I thought

it was a reaction to the drug but I began reading everything that I could

find on candida.I later returned to my doctor armed with Crook's book and

got two weeks of diflucan and nystatin, and started the diet.Although I felt

a lot better-no more sinus or throat infections,I still felt exhausted all

the time. After 5 months I decided to go to a natural health clinic and had a

live blood test done.It showed that I still had a lot of yeast in my

blood.(It was a 3.5 with 5 being the worst.)I then began taking aerobic

oxygen that the blood tester said that he had seen excellent results with.I

felt worse for about two weeks, but after a month I could feel a big

difference in my energy level.I also did acupuncture at this time.I was left

with many severe chemical sensivtities,so I asked my doctor at the

environmental center for 6 weeks of diflucan which I am taking at this time.

I am also rotating several antifungals at the same time.I have used other

natural antifungals in the past as well, and primal defense.

As for the milk allergy,I get abdominal pains, and become very gassy.

I still don't have milk,wheat,alcohol,sugar,and very lillte fruit.Hope this

answers your questions.Donna

Hi Gigi,I guess it depends on how sick you are.I had chronic fatigue and was

off work for 8 months.I just wanted my life back and I knew I was on the

right track because I felt so much better.Other people in my town that have

gone through what I've been through said it took about a year of the diet

and even though it has been a few years ago for them, they still must avoid

sugar and one of them avoids wheat. If she has a glass of wine, she can feel a

slight return of her symptoms.I never thought when I started that it would

go on this long.Donna

Hi Gigi,

I never had the itching in the rectum, until I got diarrhea from a high enzyme

fruit and veggie drink. The Candidia was in my small intestine and moved into my

large intestine, so maybe when you started eating more veggies it moved into the

large intestines? Also if you eat a lot of dairy on Atkins it to could have feed

the bad bacteria.

Laurie

Re: Re: Is it just me???

Thanks for sharing that. I am confused since when I

cut all sugar and most carbs on Atkins the symptoms of

itchiness came.

I love coffee, I use a silk soy creamer in mine. I will never give it up unless

I felt it was doing harm to my health, according to Dr. D'Adamo its beneficial

for blood type A's.

About the itching, take a hot bath with Hydrogen Peroxide (food grade 35%) buy

at a health food store, pour 1 to 2 cups of it into a very hot tub of water and

the itch will disappear, it might tingle slightly but will disappear. Have you

ever heard of ozonated olive oil, it work wonders for that kind of itching. You

could also do some enema's with beneficial ingredients.

Laurie

Re: Re: Is it just me???

PS I love coffee and dairy. That will be the biggest

challenge for me. I have easily stopped all alcohol as

the itching is enough to drive me crazy. I am sure if

it stopped with restricting milk and coffee it would

be as easy.
