Hi everyone,

My husband just accepted a job in Albaquerque, NM. I remember two of you

giving me advice about the hospitals there (Lovelace and Univ.), but I

can't remember who told me. Sorry. Anyway, for those of you who live in NM,

can you suggest a decent doctor for Tommy's maintenance and monthly blood

tests. I understand that the hospitals there are pretty bad for his

condition and that I should take him out of state. I thought I could find a

local doctor to keep an eye on things and then I could find a specialist in

an out of state hospital to run the show. Does this make any sense. Someone

mentioned having Cigna insurance in NM. That will be our new insurance

company there. What do I need to look out for with them? Are there

different types of Cigna? I think that if I have to take him out of state I

will probably fly him to PA and go to CHOP. That way I can stay with my

mother. Luanne, do you have doctors names that I could contact? By the way,

how is Ty doing?

Should I stick with a pediatric GI or should a find an adult hepatologist?

Is there a hepatologist in the Alb. area? Tommy is currently doing very

well. Once he finished school, the circles under his eyes started to fade,

he is regaining some color and isn't as fatigued. His LFTs are in the 40s

which is the lowest he ever was. He gets labs done again next week. I'm

praying that Tommy's condition will continue to be mild. The doctors say we

caught it at the very beginning, so hopefully we will be able to keep a

close eye on it and control it to prevent permanent liver damage. I'm going

to put together a binder with all his test results and labs to take with us.

Has anyone heard anything else from Genny and Jodi? When are they coming

home? Did Debbie ever get to visit them?

It's been quiet. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Gerry is

probably out sunning.

Debbie (Tommy's Mom)
