Guest guest
Hi Bee, Regarding Barry Groves' article " Climb Down From the Bran Wagon " , it's too bad he used bran for the fiber in his tests. It says something about bran but not necessarily about the role of fiber in diet. A far better test would have been to use some arbitrary mixture of plant derived vegetable fiber like, well, even steamed broccoli. As you well know, grains like bran have their own set of problems, especially for people with Candida Overgrowth, Bacterial Infections and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Also, anyone who suddenly increases the amount of fiber they eat will have all sorts of problems. Fiber, as most things in life, should be introduced gradually. And as far as your personal experience with all meat and fat and no plant fiber, I'm very glad that works for you but that kind of diet would absolutely KILL me. Different digestive system I guess. ~Robin
