Guest guest
(reading digests from 1 - 2 weeks ago) Hi group, I'm commenting on several posts, all at once, all relating to amalgam/mercury/detox, so this is a bit long. ===================================================================== <<Rhonda rr-jr@... said, in part:>> I have two amalgum fillings that I still would like removed, one of which is pretty big....does anyone know if having these fillings removed and replaced with the white ones, is covered under most insurance policies? Or will they only cover it if you actually " need " it replaced, such as with a cavity? Is this considered cosmetic? <<my comment:>> Rhonda, I had mine replaced and insurance paid for it, BUT they pay at the " amalgam rate " . That is, it costs more for non-metal than for the poisoned stuff, so, they pay at the cheaper rate. I think they paid around 50% to 70%. I had a root canal/gold crown done at the same time, so the $$ issues are all intertwined in my mind (which is why I'm not sure about the % for the amalgams). The ins company did NOT ask any questions about why I had 8 amalgam fillings replaced in 3 months. ==================================================================== <<Rhonda, rr-jr@..., also said, in part:>> I might be going through the procedure to have my amalgam fillings removed soon and was wondering if anyone on this list has gone through this, did you use any kind of supplements/nutritonal programs/detoxification before and afterwards? If so, what exactly did that entail? I've been researching but so far haven't found much on how to clear heavy metals such as mercury from the body. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. <<my comment>> Boy, this is really hard to answer--- I'd need to write a book. Maybe we could take this as a first installment?? I don't mean to make it sound overly-hard by saying that, but I can't possibly tell you exactly what is involved in just one post! Suggested reading: 1. the autism treatment list on . It is VERY high volume (yep, even more mail than bowel cleanse!!) If nothing else, you can subscribe to the list, which will get you a " welcome " letter and a copy of the " FAQ " (sent to your email address)-- then unsubscribe if you don't want all the mail. Then read the FAQ 2. book " Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and treatment " It costs $35 and you can order it directly from the author, Cutler. Ordering info is at: http://hometown.aol.com/noamalgam. Andy (the author) is also a regular contributor on the autism treatment list. This is the only book I know of that includes the details of how to do chelation. Others (e.g. Huggins) MENTION chelation and say a few general things of little practical application. VERY short summary of what is involved: During replacements: vitamin C, activated charcoal, take time in between replacements. I had some bodywork done to try to cope with the stress of the dental work, too. After replacements: " chelation " using DMSA (as Patty mentioned) and/or alpha lipic acid. Taken orally (as Patty mentioned). Taken in " on a few days / off a few days " cycles. Take supplements to help body cope with stresses of detox (e.g. vitamin C, milk thistle). Take days off also to give body a rest. THIS IS A SUMMARY ONLY. There is lots more to it. It is not hard, I just can't say everything at once, and I know about this in MINUTE detail, so it is hard to write just a summary. ========================================================================= <<escort7980@... Claude said, top Rhonda:>> I think that your are going through a cleansing period. I would keep using the homozon. Homozon is also good for detoxing mercury. <<My comment:>> I have seen several comments on lists about ozone (now homozon) being " good for " mercury detox. I have asked for and sought any actual evidence of this. I don't mean scientific studies, I just mean " what do you base this idea on?? " I have not, so far, found anything that seems at all convincing, or even especially like " evidence " to me. So far it just seems like a nice idea (at least as far as I have heard). Claude, I would be very interested in any info about this. I have been reading lists and books about oxygen therapies for perhaps 1 to 2 years, and have been reading intensively about mercury for perhaps a year. So this interests me. I am not just " poking " and saying " prove it " . I am actually INTERESTED in both these topics. I have used homozon, and hydrogen peroxide. This is not some academic nit-pick on my part. I am planning to buy an ozone machine soon. I am actively doing mercury chelation, and read about it every day. I'd be very interesting in knowing if H202 or ozone or HBOT is effective for mercury detox. =========================================================================== <<DS <dusan@...> said, in part:>> It is a sad tragedy that mercury is causing such health damage to so many people. Sad because it is so reversible and easily avoidable---IF you know where it is and how it can affect you and your family <<my comment:> Oh, I think it is PLENTY sad, and I WISH it were easily avoidable, however, I think it is actually DIFFICULT to avoid exposure to mercury. If you just " go along with the program " you will get major exposure from vaccines, and amalgam fillings. There are also MANY MANY other sources of exposure such as tuna fish, florescent lights, thermometers, breathing air, etc. As I learn more about it I am very concerned that mercury is used in SOOOOO many products. Including cars, for example, and cosmetics. Who would think? IF people-in-general and medical-authorities-in-particular would agree that it is important to avoid this stuff, THEN it would be easy to avoid. Dentists would stop implanting it in people's mouths, for example, and doctors would stop injecting it into children in vaccines (actually I think the US is getting closer on this one). We would not allow it to be put into products in the way it is now. We would stop cremating amalgams (I mean in the bodies of dead people---causes high levels of merc in the air) --- and on and on and on..........You get the idea...... In the meantime, yes, by all means, avoid amalgam fillings and avoid thimerosal (sp?) in vaccines. That will take you a long way toward avoiding being poisoned. =================================================================== I'll write more another day Moria
