Well I survived the MRI. The technician is one of our patients so that made me feel a little better. I asked for praise and worship music and they piped that through the headphones. They also put me in feet first. The top of my head was even with the opening so if I looked up I could see the ceiling and felt okay. I was only in there about 20 minutes. The worst part was the pain. They put one pillow under my knees but it was not enough. I was in excruciating pain the whole time and it was so hard to keep still and not shift positions. It will take 24-48 hours for the radiologist to read the films.

I went directly from there to my doctor's office. They gave me a shot of Toradol for the pain. I told them about my right leg retaining fluid. The nurse practitioner examined me and I appeared to have normal pulse into the right leg and no swelling of the lymph nodes. My calf was a little tender so they immediately sent me back to the hospital for a venous doppler. It was negative for blood clots so I was released to go to work. So no reason for the fluid retention. I am supposed to keep the leg elevated but it's a little hard to sit with my foot above my chest and I've got to get my work done tonight. But I'll get it done ASAP so that I can get to bed and put my feet up. The fluid is always gone by morning.

I'll pick up the films on Thursday and take them over to Dr. Graham. He can go over them with me on Friday morning and we'll know which direction to go from here.

Thanks for the support and prayers,

Peggy
