Vaginal yeast infection

I've found that douching with yogurt works great for my vaginal discomfort.

It took me a month to find a douche bag, so I just worked the yogurt (about

1/4 c. I'd guess) around the vaginal area, and used a finger to try to get

more inside. A douche bag does get more yogurt up inside, but I've found

that it's just as easy and as effective without it. At first I did the

yogurt douche each day, but now I do it about 2 or 3 times a week (I don't

have much discomfort now, but I'm trying to rebuild my good bacteria levels

everywhere).

I make my own yogurt, so it has no additives and lots more good bacteria.

If you don't make your own yogurt, just make sure you use plain non-flavored

yogurt. I don't dilute it either.

I have tried Diflucan too; the first dose worked well for the vaginal

discomfort. Unfortunately when I had the second dose a month later (on the

advice of my doctor) I ended up heading to the ER because my throat closed

up in addition to hives everywhere. So no more Diflucan for me! I am

reluctant to try Nystatin, or at least I won't try it for a while until my

body gets stronger.

I got a really large syringe from my doctor and filled it with yogurt

(minus the needle of course...Yikes, what a thought!) and it worked

very well. I think I once used the applicator for one of the

antifungals on the market. Yogurt worked as well if not better than

the expensive antifungal. Seven Star Farm yogurt is a fine one to

use. Others are Brown Cow, Erivan, Stonyfield Farms, Butterworks,

and Hawthorne Valley. I have never used goat yogurt, but see no

reason it wouldn't work just as well.

I appologize to those that may find my post offensive.

Years ago when I used to get frequent vaginal yeast infections these were some

of the symptoms: local irritation, large amount of white, cheesy discharge and

intense itching and/or burning, plus the skin around the area was sore and red

due to the scratching.

These are some of the steps I took:

Make sure you wear lose fitting white cotton underware to allow free

circulation of air

It's a must to keep the area clean and dry. Wear a panty liner during the

day (the ones that have the flap are better a first)

After bathing, (do not use towel to dry the affected area) use a blow dryer

(set on cool) about 6 - 8 inches from the vaginal area until thoroughly dried.

If possible use white towel and was after each use

After bathing and drying lay on the bed with a towel under you, and apply

organic natural yogurt to the vaginal area and let it dry (this will stop the

itching and pain

Stay on the diet 100%

Wash clothing in unscented detergent, must avoid fabric softners, Cotton

underwear can be microwaved to distroy yeast. Wet the garment, wring it out

well and microwave on high for 30 seconds.

Avoid contact with any potentially irritating chemicals by avoiding colored

and/or scented toilet paper, perfumes, deodorants, or colored underware, female

hygiene sprays, and commercial sexyal lubricants

Most important is to be on Bee's diet 100%, unfortunately, this is not a

symptom that we get overnight, as it has been said on this list already it will

take take before it will go away.

Good luck, Maddalena

Thanks for the list Maddelana. Those same things are listed in the

Vaginal Yeast Infection Treatment file.

==>Hi there. What is your name? I wonder whether you've actually

followed my candida program for 2 years since you only joined my group

November 22, 2006, unless you were doing it from my article on the

Nourished website? My program is very different than any other candida

diets, mainly because of the high " good " fats, and the elimination of

some foods like grains, seeds, nuts and legumes, all fruits except

lemons and limes, and bad oils and fats.

If you've only been on my program since Nov. 2006, about 6+months, that

isn't long enough to cure your candida. Also during natural healing

you could experience flare-ups of previous symptoms or be re-tracing

them per my main candida article.

It takes 1 month of natural healing on this program for every year

you've been unwell, and for most people nowadays that is since birth.

I was just on diflucan for 3 days and got violently ill. Upset stomach

and massive diarrhea. I would do everything I can to avoid it. It

also wreaks havoc on your liver (sometimes fatally it even says on the

drug information).

Hi there,

Diflucan...NOT a good idea. There've been several posts over the last

few weeks about the dangers of Diflucan. Go to our group site and

use the " search message " function to look for past posts on the subject.

There are many natural options for alleviating your symptoms. Again

you can find those at our group site in the Files (found on the

left-hand menu). Once you get to the Files, look in the " Women's

Health Issues " folder. OR, you could go to Bee's website and use the

Site Search function there to find the same info.

Her site is: www.healingnaturallybybee.com

hope that helps,

I know women who take a whole garlic clove slightly smashed and wrap

it in gauze and insert vaginally. I think you can leave it over night

I talked to a few women this has helped

I also have been on diflucan, but I was on an outrageous course of 16

200mg pills per month, I took about 36 in total. No bad reactin but

now hair loss. And the diflucan did absolutely NOTHING to fix me,

and she wanted me on it a total of 6 months!!! I stopped it cold

turkey and ordered nystatin instead. I would not recommend this drug

at all it really is a bandaid if anything, for me it did not work.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I had my first vaginal yeast

infection (complete with itching and burning.) She told me to get some

garlic oil gel-caps and insert one vaginally each night before bed. These

things are CONCENTRATED, and after about 4 nights, I was " cured " . (At

least I didn't have the nasty itching, burning,a nd discharge anymore.)

Your body heat will melt the gelatin, and you don't have to worry about

taking anything out in the morning. Be forewarned though, it STINKS the

first time or two you urinate.

Bee also recommends a douche regimen that can help quazi-quickly too.

(I'm not thinking it'd take weeks to deal with it.)

And then, of course, for the itching, there's always coconut oil (mixed

with a few drops of Oil of Oregano if you're not pregnant or nursing.)

Good luck!

==>Hi . As written in my article " How to Treat Vaginal Yeast " : " To

clear recurrent vaginal yeast infections the entire body must be

treated.

For lasting results, the entire candida program, especially the diet,

should be followed. Birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy

should be eliminated, along with other recommendations on the candida

diet; see Bee's Article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " for the

complete candida diet and program.

Vaginal yeast does not occur independent of the body's overall

condition, i.e. a depressed immune system, and treating it requires

overall body treatment that builds up the immune system and keeps it

there.

Luv, Bee

Hi Bee!

I know that, and I thought I made that clear. Sorry.

I was trying to suggest additional " treatments " to be used in conjunction

with the diet and supplement regimen.

> Vaginal yeast does not occur independent of the body's overall

Absolutely!

It's amazing how many people think things like vaginal yeast, thrush, and

athlete's foot occur independent of a systemic problem. I remember going

to a new doctor a year and a half ago. I told him that I struggled with

systemic yeast, and he said, " Oh, I have a hand-out on that. " I took the

hand-out and laughed as I read it, because it talked about recurrent

vaginal yeast infections as a sexually transmitted disease! It was clear

this guy wasn't picking up what I was putting down. :)

So many people don't seem to understand that you can use all the

antifungals in the world, but until you stop FEEDING the yeast, and until

you support a healthy immune system, you're not going to get anywhere.

I'm so glad we're so enlightened. :)
