Hi April

It was just a bad day...because today he is feeling better....and went to school....He still has some infarctions....on the right side...that is what is bothering him now...The other two spots...left and the top are still tender and he has to take it easy ...but he is handling that pain....it will take awhile for it to actually go away...the left side is what was infarcting in January and then in March it was the top...the top being a very large area....The right is the newest so the most painful right now....But like I said he felt good enough to go to school so that is a positive sign..

How is Elyse feeling today...I hope better....If the headaches are always on the same side and always over an eye ...they could be migraines....Ty gets them...when he was about 7yr old he would get these headaches....not feel well ...vomit...and then go to sleep....and wake up the next day feeling fine....He has 2 older siblings who were very active in sports and Marching Band and Color Guard....so we were always running somewhere and being out late...Ty also used to play soccer....and they always came on a Sunday night....maybe 2 a week...no one in our family ever had migraines so we did not know what they were....When he was 9 and already diagnosed with Crohns I told his GI(same one he has now) about these headaches...

We just happen to be going for an appointment when he had one of these headaches...When the doctor came in the examining room...the lights were all out and Ty was lying on the table all curled up...We have a 2 hour ride to get to the hosp so it didn't make it any better....And I was not one to give Tylenol...or anything....

I said ...Well here is one of those headaches...the doctor asked a few questions and said hes got a Migraine....and sent us to see a Neurologist...he was tested to make sure it wasn't anything else and has been taking meds to help prevent them every night...He takes elavil....and then if he does get them he takes fiorenol....Sometimes he goes weeks without a one....then then there will be times when he gets 2-3 a week...Summertime he does the best...fall and winter the worst...But they are always over the same eye and light and sound make them excruciating .

As far as when do I freak out....I am freaking...under the radar...all the time....but I would never want to let Tyler know how I am always on the edge....waiting for something to happen....I try real hard to go about our lives...sharing as much as we can of his life...not dwelling on his diseases...but on him...how much we love him and enjoy him and are behind him all the time...no matter what...

I do hope that Elyse is feeling alot better though....nice talking to you again...
