Guest guest
Am now 6 weeks out till surgery. Am doing ok. Pretty much prepared with what I needed to get for myself at home and in hosp. (had the best time silkie jammie shopping) I didn't think I would be needing that preparing for surgery CD., but had myself a bit of a meltdown last week. We had made plans and reservations for when I go into the hosp. Staying in Frisco near the hosp. the night before, and Bob will be staying at one of the places our time share has in Frisco for the next 3 days the first week, repeat the next week. said she will come to stay with me 3 or 4 nights that first week. (she is the best!). That way Bob can still work (he works nights) and save the days off so he can be home with me 5 or 6 weeks afterward. My aunt said she will come stay the second week. After all the plans were said and done and my mind got all wrapped around it...well, 'YIKES I AM HAVING SURGERY' kept spinning through my mind. I know why I'm doing it, I'm glad I am doing it, its just its surgery. ugh. I did go ahead and get the bedrail I was looking at. It just arrived and is really very nice. Its not large, 17 inches wide. As my dresser is right next to my bed, I thought it would be great to have for balance while dressing (or being dressed as the case will be). I am such a 'weeble'now, am sure I will be unsteady later. Got my raised potty (or as my son said, ah mom you got a potty chair, how cute). and the shower stool should arrive this week. I am trying to concentrate on all the great things that I won't HAVE to do...like cleaning up after the bird (its a big bird, makes a big mess), mopping the floors. I have been waiting 34 years not to have to mop a floor. how cool is that! : I am so glad you posted your journal for us to read. I did read it aloud to Bob, especially the last posting. I wanted him to know all that can go on afterward and you provided so much info. Thank You.
