Re: chelation with amalgam fillings AND EDTA

Dear Sherry and list,

There are 2 issues here, which are distinct and separate

issues:

1. does EDTA (or this product) actually chelate metals,

including mercury

2. is it safe to chelate mercury with amalgams in your

mouth.

Sherry, I believe your point regarding " what is cheaper "

(or the financial bias toward a given program) relates to

#1 on that list but NOT to #2.

I will address #2 first. First, the books and websites

I've read (about 4 books on merc poisoning) either say

nothing about this or say NOT to chelate with amalgams

in your mouth.

Hal Huggins, who is one of the most recognized names in

this area (author of " Its All In Your Head " and a number

of other books on dangers of dentistry) says in one of

his books that he has seen a high dose of some chelator

CAUSE SEIZURES (this was in people who are already mercury

toxic).

The idea that pulling mercury out of your fillings could

POSSIBLY be okay is quite dangerous. In case anyone reading

this does not know, how to do chelation safely, for people

who DO NOT HAVE amalgams, is a topic of great concern and

some controversy.

Even if we were to assume (possibly incorrectly) that somehow

ALL of the mercury that is loosened up from the fillings is

going to get OUT of the body (rather than being redistributed

INTO the body), would not that process cause the fillings

to wear out??

Further, even if all the mercury that is pulled out of

the fillings is going to get out, that mercury is a huge

burden on the body in the process, just as would be ANY

new expose to mercury. The stuff is not going to just

painlessly be flushed away: the liver, kidneys and colon

(at very least) have to deal with it.... along with the

stuff being unleashed from other parts of the body!

I would be interested to know if there are physicians who

think it is " okay " to chelate metals with amalgams in your

mouth. I find this alarming.

Now, on to point #2: whether EDTA (or this product) chelates

mercury (or other metals).

I don't really have a lot more to add (from what I said in

my prior post). From what I have read, EDTA is not used

for mercury chelation, and is not recommended for that.

I do not know about other toxic metals.

I did check the website of the product (which I think you

posted last time). I saw there was a brief mention of

something about clearing metals, but I did not see anything

to substantiate why the company thinks this is so. I didn't

read the whole website though.... but I was looking for

any further text on the subject, and didn't find any.

I assure you that I am not getting information on this topic

from medical professionals with a vested interest in more

expensive options. In addition, I am addressing WHICH oral

substances are useful for mercury chelation.

Sherry, are you suggesting that " natural health professionals "

you know are suggesting the use of herbs and vitamins for

treatment of mercury poisoning WITHOUT also suggesting that

the patient a. remove amalgam and b. safely chelate the

mercury in their body with DMSA (or ALA or DMPS)??

If so, that is weird. Or, are these people not convinced

that mercury posioning exists? (In which case their

recommendations of herbs and vitamins seem not related to

how to do chelation of any sort.)

If you are comparing the cost of your product to other chelation

options, what has that got to do with the price of herbs and

vitamins? Anyone (with or without amalgams, chlation or

mercury poisoning) would do well to take herbs and vitamins

selectively, and, yes, it can be expensive.

What has that to do with the cost of chelation?

I will add, yet again, that I think EDTA likely works for cholesterol

and the like (although I haven't looked into it extensively,

since I have extremely low cholesterol, and am nearly vegan).

I am QUESTIONING the claim that this product is

useful for mercury detox specifically.... and I am alarmed

that physicians or seminars would suggest that it is " okay "

to pull mercury out of amalgam fillings.

regards,

Moria

I have been to many seminars with physicians, plus have consulted

extensively with the company and can tell you as fast as it is pulling

mercury out of the teeth, it pulls it from the body. Plus, pulls metals

from the brain and other parts of the body. I think part of the problem

with some natural health professionals is, the cost is much cheeper and

much quicker using kelation than a few years of selling herbs and vitamins.

Getting the arteries clean quickly and efficiently is much better for

anyone than dragging it out with a number of herbs and vitamins that can

take as much as a few years.
