Guest guest
Mine was just below my clavicle on the right side...not really my neck. I was very concerned about it at first, but requested I have another one for the anterior surgery because I know how often they come in to draw blood and give pain meds, etc. It also was used for my TPN (IV nutrition), which I lived on for 12 days. I am not sure why I was on it for so long, but it and ice chips were my only sustenance for 12 days! So, I could keep getting the nutrition, have blood drawn, and I suppose they could have injected something else in the third one simultaneously, but I think only two lines were ever used at once. Nevertheless, they came in daily to draw blood from it and the few times I was nauseous in the hospital, they used it to give me nausea medication as well. I was only sore the day they put it in, but by the time I woke up from surgery, I didn't even notice it. Kathy, this is the greatest medical invention of my lifetime! kam
