Laureen Im not sure how long you have been on the list. Yes the group purpose is

to obtain information to obtain Medicaid. However in doing so all the facts must

be presented. When we tried in 2001 to obtain medicaid reimbursement the reason

it was not granted was primarily all the contriversy that surrounds the feild.

For one experimental and investigational and so forth.

 

In order to get to the forfront of medicine. We all have to clarify this feild

and the argueing and infighting has to come to a stop. The truth has to be told.

There can't be people out there destroying the feild talking about the different

types of chambers and there faults while under the same breath making changes to

them.

 

There has to become a standard here and let it go forth. The fact that both

chambers are viable makes the argument that Hyperbaric works. To much focus is

be placed on which is the best chamber instead of does this therapy work can we

get it approved for reimbursment. I guess I got a little off track myself.

 

AHHA need's to make a stance a final stance. Either they agree with Tom or

dismiss him. I should first say Im sorry to e for posting this but it is

the fact. You have to make a stance. You can't feel one way about a device or

therapy and serve on a board that promotes this therapy. It just discredits whom

you are.

 

I mean after all it is no secret that e treated her husband in a protable

and had great results. In fact she sold the chambers and worked for the company

for some time. Another person that serves on the board is Patty Weible and she

in fact currently uses the portables. Now then you have TOM FOX that serves on

the borad that totally disagree's with them. Now that is a conflcit of interest.

First let's look at the name of the organization.

 

American Association for Hyperbaric Awareness. Now how does that look out there

to the people that are going to one day approve this for reimbursement when the

organization that is making this aware to the public does not even agree on how

this therapy is to be administered. It will never work.

 

So yes the purpose is to get information on reimbursement for Medicaid but in

the same fact sometimes you have to jump through some hoop's to get there.

Hi -

I joined this group in order to obtain information on getting this

therapy approved through MediCaid (or in my state MediCal). I am

happy to have the information that has been graciously provided and

glad that I can reference previous posts or files. And, I like

getting the updates on where everyone is in this quest.

I did not think that this list was for discussing issues between

soft chamber manufacturers and any issues between those parties. I

would think that this could be discussed between such parties or on

another list.

I do appreciate discussions about Hard vs. Soft Chambers and hearing

the stories of what has worked for others. This is very valuable

information to have and I love hearing the really great success

stories. Makes my heart melt.

If someone could shed light on the purpose of this group - maybe

that would help me decide if I should join another to get the

information that I am seeking.
