Guest guest
Great Points... Hi Cam, The association suggests moving forward with surgery - they HAVE to provide coverage under HIPPA - it's similar to Cobra but with an actual insurnace company - I will look into your suggestions further to "make sure". As far as rushing surgery, this seems to be Dr. LaGrones "normal" timeline - I was putting it off til summer to accomodate my wifes teaching schedule, but it's not a "requirement" - I would prefer having surgery near April so that I can enjoy / be home (at least part) of the summer with my family - even if only a for a few weeks... I am VERY interested in Hearing from Anyone who had their entire H-Rod removed... The approaches from the two doctors already seem to be Very Different... BTW: I am going for my "lab - physical this week, and getting an updated MRI in the next two weeks" Prior to Seeing Dr LaGrone.. Thanks again, I will be posting the details of the letter as soon as I get it... Ken. cammaltby <cammaltby@...> wrote: Ken,6 weeks looks like a tight but "doable" time line. Remember that you are probably going to have to hurry some of the pre-op testing, so if you are really serious about proceeding before your insurance changes either LaGrone or Akbarnia...there is not going to be a lot of "dithering" time!Like you, I had about 10 months of thinking things through before I had my 2nd consult with Rand, so once I was ready, I wanted it done yesterday and scheduled for about 8 weeks later. It went fast.I wonder if you should call your association and see what they suggest you do? Perhaps there will be a COBRA period after this company pulls out where your coverage can remain in force? Even if it is a little more $$ it might be worth it if you are "in process".It's a tough choice. I wonder how well you are going to do dealing with an insurance company that could be unresponsive during the bill paying period which would coincid with when you will feel pretty rotten. I mean, what benefit do they get for paying your bills promptly or not debating every charge with you?Good luck and looking forward to hearing the full details of your letter.Take Care,Cam 8:00? 8:25? 8:40?
