Guest guest
Kim, I think you will have to search for a surgeon who understands you and your limitations and feels comfortable working within those parameters...but I believe it is possible. Both surgeons I consulted, DrRand and DrBoachie were somewhat open to talking about how the surgeries should happen. I think it is fair to say that I would have tried to push either of them outside there comfort zone...nor do I believe they would let me...but we did talk about different options and way of doing the surgeries that could have been explored. Also, I did not have any punctures done prior to surgery. I am allergic to CT contrast dye...so it really was not an option. I did have a bunch of MRI's. Again, at the risk of sounding like a broken record...if you can find yourself with a surgeon who is VERY experienced with post HR adult scoli's you may have the best chance of finding someone who can work around your situation. You will have to be honest and forthright about your needs and willing to go through a few opinions...but there is hope. Keep learning and asking questions!
