Guest guest
Nan, Sorry to spoil your fun....but no one was really signing in for Chat so we left it that if folks wanted to call for a " Gam " (that's what the old Nantucket Whaleboats that ran into each other out in the vast ocean called it when they met up and tied up with one another and talked and exchanged news) they could just announce it on the board and then they could be there at the dsignated time/place. I hope this works for you. I think that having an every week session was too much. The problems with chat were pretty frustrating too. I think Ann had some ideas about using a different chat source so maybe we can fix that in the future. Your dates are fast approaching. I hope you get your arrangments sorted out soon. I am sure that is just adding to your tension, but sometimes stuff happens for a reason, so perhaps the plan you end up with is better than the one that fell apart. That is what I will hope for! I will be thinking about you and feel free to set a chat time if you want to talk, I will try to be there! Cam

Guest guest
Hi All! I am scheduled for revision surgery on Aug. 22 with Dr. Ondra at Northwestern. He will be doing a Posterior Vertebral Column Resection with re-instrumentation and re-fusion. The reason he has chosen that technique is because I need correction in both the sagittal and coronal planes. This allows for greater correction and less complications. His nurse told me he's done this procedure alot. She said Lenke and Bridwell are starting to do some of them, now, too. I haven't seen it talked about on this list, and wonder if any lurkers have had it. He expects I will be hospitalized 10 days, and may need to go to rehab (I have a weak leg due to S-1 radiculopathy.) Any words of advice, I'm open!! I have read the lists of what to take, and have been following all those who have had surgery recently. This will be my second revision, so I do know what to expect (more or less, my last surgery was 1983, and I think the mind tends to forget the worst stuff!!). Please wish me luck, and I send continued best wishes to , Melinda, Tami and ALL who are recovering. Kathy W. Need a vacation? Get great deals to amazing places on Travel.
