Guest guest
Hi Fran! Funny you should mention that because I also have a very acute sense of smell (wonder if that's something we all have in common? That would be weird!). My husband is always rolling his eyes when I mention the intensity of various smells (some good, some bad!). Anyway, the only time I notice the smell AT ALL is when inserting/removing. Although, I *do* love the smell of garlic so maybe I'm not the best judge! ;-) You don't break open or trim the garlic clove in any way - that would be too strong for the sensitive tissue - so you don't really release the powerful garlic smell. Even when taking it out, it's just the lightest scent of garlic, quickly dissipated. If anyone could smell it, they would be WAY TOO CLOSE to that part of my body!!! ;-) Give it a try, you'll know right away whether it works for you or not. It's in my top 10 of health-preserving techniques, right up there with cabbage rejuvelac!!! Hope this helps! Janine ==> Hi Janine, did the smell of garlic come out of your pores or from 'down there' the day after? I have hypersensized smell due to chemical/environmental allergies, and I would hate to smell garlic on me the next day, let alone fearing others might smell that too... Guest guest
Many thanks for the info. Janine! Re: hypersensitized smell: one of my environmental doctors explained to me why this happens with some environmentally sensitive/allergic (MCS) people, but all I remember is that the sense of smell is directly linked to the limbic system/reptilian brain, and that MCS il linked with that part of the brain. I know that this condition (if we must call it something...lol) has a $5 scientific name attached to it, and there is at least one online support group for it. Not all people with MCS have a hypersensitized smell; some people have a hypersensitized hearing (making their life hell). For some, it's other symptoms. Anyways, the better I get, the less this is an issue for me, and vice versa. :- ) Fran
