Guest guest
I've been reading a lot the last 24 hours, I think my eyeballs may fall out! I decided that since the symptoms of candida and low thyroid seemed to share a common theme they might be linked together. Low and behold, I find they are common companions to each other. Now my question is...if the candida is cured will the thyroid self adjust? I take virgin coconut oil and I know that is working in my behalf. Also, if I throw in a Rx for the thyroid does anyone know what it will do to the candida. Oy, this is maddening!
Guest guest
Rochelle, I have read about both that you mentioned.  Unfortunately there are not many surgeons around here that even have enough experience for those.  Also my concern is that both of these types have not been around very long like the fusion.  And I have read both good and bad about each.  I have also been put off for this by other docs for such a long time I do not have any time to wait; I have to do something right now.  Had I gone to a doc that told me that surgery was inevitable, instead of " lets try this " I may have had an opportunity to explore other options.  The surgeon I am going to here is tops in his field, has lots of satisfied patients, who I have spoken with personally, and a fabulous reputation with other docs saying he would be the one doing their surgery. Debbie From: Rochelle <rccoc1977@...> Subject: Re: Another Newbie question neck pain Date: Sunday, October 10, 2010, 7:44 AM  Hi Debbie, Apparently, one level is a piece of cake as I've heard at least 2 spine surgeons say. The only thing about a fusion is that the levels above and below may deteriorate faster and eventually require there own fusions. But since it is only one level, have you asked about an artificial disc, which are FDA approved for one level? Also Laser Spine, even though expensive, as long as there is only one level will clean out those bone spurs with one surgery called a foraminotomy where they go through the back of the neck with a series of tubes made larger and larger so not to cut muscle and then make a little hole in the roof of the vertebra and clean out the impinging bone spurs on the nerve root. Ths surgery is also performed by regular spine surgeons, but with much larger cuts and holes so recovery is actually slower than with the single fusion because muscles in the back of the neck are cut and take a long time to heal. Guest guest
Well then Deb, if the other patients love their doc, and are happy with the results, thats a way to go. No one knows better than the patients themselves. And thats very smart on your part and the best way to find a good doctor. hope you feel better! cindy > > Grasshopper, > I can understand your position, however I do not have many choices.  I have waited as long as I could with the amount of pain I am experiencing.  I have done a lot of research on the subject and have found there are second surgeries that can correct the first one if it fails.  Not all of those work, but there are other options too.  I have also checked out the surgeon that will be doing my surgery and have personally spoken with several of his patients.  I really do not see another option for myself. Fortunately mine is only one level. > Debbie > > > > From: grasshopperx_10 <woody1014@...> > Subject: Re: Another Newbie question > neck pain > Date: Saturday, October 9, 2010, 9:00 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > well, can i comment even if i have never had fusions? Guest guest
I think you just answered your question. :-) I'd go ahead with the surgery if he's the top guy in his field and thinks it needs to be done. At least you have someone that will help you. The " only " spine surgeon in my area (and within 250 miles) won't take anyone that's been in a car accident (like me). He says he has enough patients to keep him busy so won't take ANY auto accident victims. Joi The surgeon I am going to here is tops in his field, has lots of satisfied patients, who I have spoken with personally, and a fabulous reputation with other docs saying he would be the one doing their surgery. Guest guest
Joi, I am so sorry to hear that. Â I hope you find someone to help you. I am just having a difficult time right now because some of the medicine I am having to take is really making me anxious. Â I go to see him tomorrow for my pre-surgery appointment. Â Hopefully he can help me calm down. Guest guest
People that you ask is a great way to find out. I think maybe the best way. Thats how i found my chiro who was the only one who figured out what was wrong(he cant cure me tho). i asked the local people and heard nothing but good. My medical doctor tho, on the other hand.People say he is arrogant and not that bright. Even other nurses have said that. but you have to ask bluntly... like " IS he any good " ????? people will usually tell the truth. I also run into alot of VERY smart people on the net. Way smarter than the docs. There is this lady on our jaw group. She is like a rocket scientist when it comes to knowing a jaw. holy smokes. She knows jaws. Rural states, like mine(maine) its really hard.(Joi) The smart doctors are hundreds of miles away. It would be nice to have one on every corner. i cant go 300 miles. cindy > > I think you just answered your question. :-) I'd go ahead with the surgery > if he's the top guy in his field and thinks it needs to be done. Guest guest
I'd really like to know where this jaw group is. I have issues with my jaw. Arthritis, misaligned teeth all my life and the most pain and damage from the anesthesiologist who took 5 attempts to intubate me during my thyroidectomy. Guest guest
, I am glad to hear you have a great chiropractor. Â Maybe one day you will have a good doc move closer to where you live. Â Thanks. Debbie From: grasshopperx_10 <woody1014@...> Subject: Re: Another Newbie question neck pain Date: Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 9:33 AM Â People that you ask is a great way to find out.
