Hi, Sorry I havent't posted before now but I've been kind of lazy,

just wanting to lie around and vegetate. My husband called Peggy

for me and she also called me back last week. My surgery was on

10/09 and went really well. Dr.Hey did the lumbar pedicle

subtration osteotomy and then fused from T11 to T10, not up to T3 or

T4 as he originaly thought he would have to do. I went home on the

fourth day and am walking and standing straight, no forward bending

and no anterior pelvic tilt with bent knees as before. I keep asking

my family if I'm standing straight because I can't believe that I

would ever stand up straight again. I have very little back pain but

both knees are really hurting. I have arthritis and after 2 years of

walking with bent knees they are having a hard time adjusting.

THANK YOU ALL for your thoughts and prayers. I went home the day

before my birthday so I hd a very happy birthday. I'm so happy that

I had the surgery now instead of waiting until January. Now it's

behind me and I can get back to healing and living.

Needless to say, Dr. Hey was wonderful and the staff at his office

and the hospital were great. I received wonderful care and

attention.

I saw the questions about the extra bed in the room. That was

really great. My husband stayed with me the entire time and he also

showered and shaved in the room. I was much more relaxed knowing

that he was right there for me. Thanks again for your thought and

prayers. Will keep you posted abut my progress.
