Guest guest
Hi, Cam. Yes an interesting day, and the suspense mounts. I just have 2 more days in Boston before the surgery. Aug. 1 I go for pre-op and fusion class, and Aug. 10 I get an echocardiogram and consult with Dr. Rand. I haven't actually met with Dr. Woodard. I received the promised call from the insurance company's nurse case manager. She did think I should meet Woodard before the surgery, so I called and tried to get an appointment, but I wasn't motivated enough to press the matter, when told I had to bring an MRI newer than 6 months (mine was done in Dec.), and when I emphasized the fact that Dr. Woodard had already committed to do the procedure and I just wanted to see him ahead of time, I was told I needed to speak to his PA....... Anyway, I was surprised the case manager suggested I do something that will cost the insurance company a few additional dollars so she did indeed seem sincere. I guess it would be good to actually talk with him a bit before I let him near my spinal cord (EEK!), but I have a pretty good idea what he'll be doing and that he's the best guy for the job. I've even seen his photo. So how will meeting him make a difference? Any thoughts from anyone? Sharon [ ] Re: Sharon Sharon,It sounds like you had an interesting day, to say the least. And wow...you really are getting close now...less than 2 months. Are there many more tests you will need to do?It is nice to hear DrRands fellow workers think alot of him. I always figure they always have the option of saying nothing if they don't think much of someones doctoring skills...but I found nurses, staff and other doctors went out of their way to say something positive about DrRand...and I thought it was reassuring.Happy gardening, Cam
