Guest guest
Hi Iris, I started developing tiny, colorless warts when my AIH was in it's " raging " stage. They were mostly on soft tissue parts of my body, like under my breasts. They almost all disappeared after I started Prednisone and Imuran treatment. I'm curious - does anyone have tiny, deep blood-red spots on their body? Those began to appear on my breasts several years ago, long before there was a hint I might have a disease or " condition " . My gynecologist told me they were " nothing " . Since I've gone into full fledged AIH with cirrhosis, I've noticed that they've increased and I also have some on my upper arms and abdomen. Yesterday, I spotted a new crop of them on my breasts. Considerably more than I've ever had. They're like large freckles, slightly raised, but deep, deep crimson. Also, I've noticed that the backs of my hands have a " grainy " feel under the skin. Similar to the way skin feels from a slight allergic reaction. Nothing to see, but it's almost like very minute grains of sand under my skin. My skin is much more thin that it used to be and I'm bruising easily lately, but got to bear in mind that I'm so far over the hill I'm on a rapid downhill slide and would be even if I didn't have AIH. Are these things just dirty little tricks played by Father Time or are they problems many or all of us are experiencing? Take care, Geri
Guest guest
Geri, I Have those blood red little spots all over my body, & have had them for quite some time. My friend who has PBC also has them ll over as does my other friend who has autoimmune Grave's Disease. My question would be- does anybody else in the group have these and are they maybe on people who have autoimmune diseases?? I have been wondering about that. My mother has not been well & cannot get a diagnosis on her problem & she has these red bumps all over also!! ANYBODY??? Lori C. Guest guest
Geri, The red spots are something I have noticed are on the increase with me also. I have asked about them, but the same old answer crops up, sorry don't know!! While they are not doing anything we will leave them alone. Don't have the problem with my hands though. How is the " remission " going with you? Guest guest
Geri, I started developing the crimson spots that you were talking about (except mine are very small) long before I was diagnosed. Of course who knows how long I've had AIH, so it's possible that there's a connection. However, a dermatologist told me these were just a part of aging. Guest guest
Roxanne, My dermatologist also said the red spots are related to aging, and that's all - he said they're not related to any disease. It has something to do with the pigment condensing and collecting in one area. He also said they do not become malignant. I know perfectly healthy people who have the red spots and skin tags.
