Well, I worked from 10 am to 3 pm today and it went pretty well. I

am sitting in my recliner at present (and enjoying it) and waiting

for the temp to drop before I walk. I can't believe I am typing

that - it's gorgeous outside (81 degrees at 4:45 pm)!

I have been having a lot of trouble with my sleep schedule and was

very concerned I'd be exhausted today. I tried the Ambien on Friday

night and couldn't necessarily tell if it made any difference until

Saturday morning - slept through my alarm and awoke to a phone call

inquiry as to why I wasn't at my 9 am appt. Ugh. Also, I think that

it gave me a headache. Saturday night, I cut the pill in half, but

still had a headache. Now it could be that the headache is a result

of the herbal cleanse that we started on Saturday, so I'm not giving

up completely, but I took a Tramadol (Ultram) last night instead of

my Norco and skipped the Ambien and I've felt really good all day.

So, it looks like I'm done with the narcotics for now and I'm

definitely holding off on the Ambien until our 10-day cleanse is

over.

I'm scheduled to do a seminar on Wednesday, but have an alternate in

case I'm not up to it. Then, it's back to St. Louis on Monday for my

follow-up appt. Can it be? Amazing how quickly time flys. Of course,

I would have argued that two weeks ago...

Today, I report that life after revision is pretty darn good!

Dear Kam,

I'm late to the game but just wanted to say congrats about being back to

work!

Question, what is the ten day cleanse you do?

I have an awful cold and I'm bummed out since I was supposed to take the

grandbaby this weekend, this one feels like it going directly to my right

lung, the lung that gives me fits because of the scoliosis. I'm sooooo glad

you are doing so well!!!!

I always seem to get one of the awful lung things when I have a lot going

on, 's Dad's coming out in two weeks, mad dash to get the house in

order, and our Grandbaby Londynn turns 1 next weekend. Seems like she was

born just yesterday, and the little spitfire already wags a finger and talks

back( in baby talk) if you say no to her. I'm blessed to be doing so well, I

can do more with her than I could do with my own kids, life after revision

is truly great!

Question, what is the ten day cleanse you do?

,

I attempted to email the group a link to a description, but I don't know for sure if it will get through. We'll see. I started using this cleanse in 1998 and have done it fairly faithfully every 90 days since that time. It's an AdvoCare product (I've mentioned them before).

I do eat while on it, but cut out fried foods, processed flour (we eat only whole grains), refined sugar (this part gets easier with time), and we eat a very low-fat diet. Just before last Easter, we did a 10-day vegan cleanse and that was really tough. BUT, I lost about seven pounds and it really did make me think a lot about sacrifice, so it was worth it in the end. Just realized how close we are to Easter (which is blowing my mind)... we might have to make it a bi-annual schedule on that one.

Anywho, we do 3 days of a fiber drink and take herbal cleanse tablets at night for seven days (that's what detoxifys your body). Then, on day four, we add probiotics through to day ten. I take a probiotic daily, too, for the health benefits. The last 3 days, it's back to the fiber to regulate your system. It's that simple! I often tell people who ask me about it that I prefer to give up breads, sugars, and fats for 10 days out of every 100 so that I can eat them as I please the rest of the time. I really do like ice cream and cookies!

If you would like more information about it, I can email you privately.

A lot of people here are suffering as a result of the smoke in the air from the fires. My allergies have been acting up for the last several days and it hadn't dawned on me that the smoke could be the culprit. Take care of you! The relatives can deal with whatever your home looks like - there are more important things in life than that (like the people who live there!).
