A TON OF SALT...

Hi, Kerry. I'm not necessarily referring to this list; although I do

believe I've seen very poor advice here. But there are lots of

resources on the net, and some [perhaps many] are less reliable than a

lot you will find here. Even here experience and skill levels vary; and

you will find conflicting advice. Even among doctors you will find

conflicting advice, so it's necessary to educate ourselves to separate

the wheat from the chaff IMHO. It's very important to come to the

recognization that what works well for one person may not work at all

for the next.

I get the feeling sometimes that some poor souls are so desperate that

they might possibly take the advice of anyone who offers any kind of

hope. I guess that's seldom if ever the case, but there's all kinds of

advice and all kinds of people on the net. My intent is to make sure

that, as you say, no one should take internet advice as the Bible.

I'm sorry if I offended you, and I assure you I did not have you in mind

when I've made such statements.

IMHO it's much better to say, " My experience has been... " than to say,

" You should take... " . One to me seems to be giving advice, and the

other seems to approach prescribing. But I'm sure you're aware of that.

Regards,

Subject: RE: went up on dosage..when will it kick in?

Hi ,

may I ask why you are always saying to take everything written here with

a grain of salt?

For myself I use precious time to respond to emails and I would prefer

if the people I write them to actually listen to what I have to say - I

have hard won experience like many others here on this board and others.

I don't think anyone is assuming to treat our advice like the bible (or

equivalent holy text).

kind regards,

Kerry

went up on dosage..when will it kick in?

I believe it's rather slow, as they normally will not test you for

dosage adjustment for about 6 weeks after a change.

As for the diet pill, I guess it's possible; but I would NOT count on

it. I believe that usually [or at least sometimes] getting your

hormones in balance may make it POSSIBLE to lose weight, but for most

people it's still very easy to put on and difficult to take off. And

even more difficult to keep off.

For some of us it's a long, hard struggle to find out what works best

for us; because hormones are so complex; and we are all individuals.

Probably your best bet is to educate yourself by reading many of the

links posted here from time to time; but always remember that the net

contains not only the good, but the bad and ugly too! In other words,

take what I or anyone else tells you with a grain of salt...

yeah every so often someone says that. After a while it becomes way too

time consuming. I might use this if I was unsure of what I was saying.

After a while I am pretty sure of some things.
