Cut-to-Size Cotton or Wool Flannel Strips (1 or 2 Layers thick) to be used over the Liver, Thymus, and Spleen Areas. 2. Take 1 Flannel Strip and place on Top of a slightly LARGER Plastic Sheet. 3. Take this Flannel Strip/Plastic Sheet Combination and place it on Top of a Heating Pad. 4. Take RAW ORGANIC Castor Oil, that has been stored in the Refrigerator, and pour 1/4 Cup over the Flannel. 5. Squeeze the Flannel Strips to evenly distribute the Castor Oil throughout. 6. Lift-up the Flannel Strip, Plastic Sheet, and the Heating Pad together. 7. Apply this Castor Oil Pack against the AFFECTED Area of the Body to be treated. 8. Wrap a large Bath Towel around the Body and over the Castor Oil Pack and pin it in place. 9. Turn up the Heat as HIGH as you can tolerate and leave the Castor Oil Pack in place for 1 Hour. 10. Wash the Flannel THOROUGHLY afterwards in a Solution of 1/4 cup Baking Soda and 2 Quarts of very WARM Water. 11. Squeeze the Flannel THOROUGHLY to get the Castor Oil out COMPLETELY and then rinse it in CLEAR Warm Water. 12. Allow the Flannel to DRY, after rinsing it THOROUGHLY or you can use it MOIST for the NEXT Treatment. 13. Do HOT & COLD Showers daily over the AFFECTED Area involved. 14. DEEPLY massage the AFFECTED Area daily, during the HOT & COLD Showers. 15. Continue this Treatment, until the AFFECTED Area is COMPLETELY HEALED. When the Castor Oil Treatment is finished, the Oil Pack is REMOVED and a DRY Coarse Cloth is used to massage the Oil, remaining on the Skin into the Body. Be SURE to store the Castor Oil in the Refrigerator, thus ensuring that you will NOT absorb ANY RANCID Oils into your Body, which would then UNDERMINE your efforts to becoming HEALTHY AGAIN! > -- " We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feather so badly that, beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the devil in human form " - Ralph Inge " The human body has no more need for cows' milk than it does for dogs' milk, horses' milk or giraffes' milk. Guest guest
I agree completely with what you wrote Robin. Even though a Dr. McGarey (MD) has written a book on the packs (which he uses in his MD practice) and alludes to the fact that it gets the lymphatic system moving and cleaned out, I don't think anyone really knows just what it does or how it does it. I've experienced the deep release of cares, worries, emotions, etc., that one would expect from deep meditation (I meditate daily) as well as a moving within my chest (ball bladder?) and a humongous bowel movement after an hour with the pack. Have found that by doing it daily the results diminish each day, but then after skipping a few days they return with as great a force as originally. It's sometimes tough to get motivated to devote an hour or more to the pack, but it is well worth it. Jay <<Well, castor oil packs yet are a bit mysterious in their function. The plant from which the castor oil is derived is called the Palma Christi meaning palm of Christ. I don't know the exact origins of this name, but I do believe it has something to do with its healing properties. The funny thing is the response folks have is really quite individual. I've seen some folks after three days of castor oil packs produce the most satisfying bowel movement of their lives. Others find that they are extremely relaxing and just having the stress melt away becomes the therapy. I personally have experienced healing of both a torn rotator cuff and severely arthritic knees by the use of this amazing substance. I've seen medical descriptions that point to an effect on the lymphatics, as do the Cayce readings. This would point to a detoxification effect. Since every cell of the body effects every other cell of the body, and castor oil seems to work at a cellular level, there any of number of expectations one could have. According to Cayce, our expectations play a significant part. So set your expectations high, and anticipate the expected result.>>
Guest guest
<<<I'm planning to do the castor oil pack as I'm having a lot of pain around my liver area. I've found the castor oil & I've got a hot pack but cant find the flannel. Can I just use an old towel instead. I dont want to have to wait to order it & it'll take about 2-3 weeks to arrive fr the States.>> Shirin, I've just used a cloth diaper that I had already at home. Works great. Try it with the towel - but maybe a hand towel, not bath towel. Hope that helps, Beth

Castor oil and flannel are available at Wilderness Family Naturals: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/resource/wfn1.php You should not use a terry towel since it isn't as absorbent as flannel; instead tear up an old flannel sheet or pajamas, or buy flannel at the fabric store.
