I did get a relief from bladder problems as a result of revision surgery. Before it, I was getting more and more trouble, so that depending on which kind of back pain had the upper hand at the time, I either couldn't go, or I felt like I had to go all the time, but couldn't produce more than a slight tinkle, or I just had no clue whether I had any need to go or not. I actually used to keep an eye on the clock on those days so that I'd make a point of trotting off every couple of hours to see if anything was willing to happen - moving badly and triggering the oh-heck-i-have-to-go with a full bladder was *not* a fun experience.

Thankfully it's all settled, and it's rare that I get any trouble. I've actually had a minor issue the last couple of days of needing to go more often than usual, because I've somehow aggravated my lower back enough that I'm off sick because of it. Even so, it's nothing major and already settling along with the pain - I'm sure it's just a bit of nerve irritation from the stenosis. Just wish I knew what I'd actually done to earn it!

I agree with the others Lorrie, there can't be any harm in trying to get the med change brought forward. There are plenty of alternatives for treating pain. I do have to agree as well that plenty of light will help - certainly it did for me. There's a lot to be said for having an autumn or winter surgery so that you can enjoy the summer rather than having to worry about slippery surfaces and cold just as you're really recovering, but I think it probably does also make it easier to get down, because winter just has that effect anyway. A rather random suggestion, but something you may find helps a little as a bit of a pickmeup is to get some Bergamot essential oil, and ideally an oil burner (easier to get it closer to you, but a few drops in a saucer of water, placed on a radiator will also do the trick) and put a few drops on when you're starting to feel a bit down. It's known for it's mood lifting powers (actually, most citrus will do that to an extent, but lemon for example will tend more to focus you than lift you), and as far as I am aware unless you have an allergy to oranges or something like that which may mean you should not handle it, there's no danger in using it. Certainly there is not the asthma risk that there can be with some of the camphoraceous oils. If you want soothing, Lavender is a good addition, and for cleansing I love Clove or Black Pepper, but they're more of an acquired taste.

titch-- Something unknown is doing we don't know what
