Hello everyone, I was just wondering when I was 14 I and my first

posterior scoliosis fusion, then again at 17 multiple osteotomies and

another long fusion with herington rods implanted. But by 1989 I had

so much pain in my lumbar spine (three remaining unfused vertebrae)

that it was unbearable. This is when I had my very first anterior

and posterior lumbar fusion with screws. Then again in 1991 when Dr.

Pashman another lumbar anterior and posterior fusion with

screws. Then again in 2001 my first revision that went HORRIBLY by

Dr. Shelokov (mainly because of the hospital, he himself well, I'm

not going to say... But My Question Is, I have develop this large

pregnant looking belly that curves to the right with my scoliosis.

(The muscles have just been devastated) NOT A BEER BELLY, I don't

drink, and I certainly don't think I'm pregnant? Especially for 10

years :-). But when I went to see Dr. Boachie last year one of his

first question was that a hernia?? At first I thought that was kind

of a odd question because I had assumed that almost everyone who had

multiple, numerous surgeries anterior and posterior would develop

what I call some type of " Buddha belly. " Not to the extent of mine

probably, but I really was surprised that Dr. Boachie seemingly

didn't know that it was from all of my muscles being cut open again

and again and again.

Anyway I was just wondering, would love to get rid of this Buddha

belly and hoping it they get my spine straighter it will at least be

in front of me so I can keep an eye on it :-)

Thank you, ie
