Guest guest
I've been looking up the information and symptoms associated with Hypothyroidism... and I am just amazed, shocked and even relieved! I can't believe we haven't looked for this before now!! With getting the Fibro and the HepC controlled and stabilized, it's been so frustrating that there were still so many things that were making me miserable and now, I look and every single solitary last one of them is on the list of symptoms for Hypothyroidism!!! I mean, I found this list on the site for Endocrine research and I have been experiencing every single symptom on this list! Fatigue Weakness Weight gain or increased difficulty losing weight Coarse, dry hair Dry, rough pale skin Hair loss Cold intolerance (can't tolerate the cold like those around you, feeling cold when others don't) Muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches Constipation Depression Irritability Memory loss Abnormal menstrual cycles Decreased libido I was amazed when I saw the skin and hair symptoms, I have complained so much about those two things happening in the last couple of years, but we thought it was just my getting older. I almost dropped over when I saw decreased libido because that has been a worsening and very annoying problem. At first I attributed it to being in so much pain, but then we got the pain controlled... and I felt so bad because I am still *interested* in sex mentally but my body... it's been like, I could care less. There was just no interest, in fact I have used the phrase " it's like my libido just died " .. and jeez my poor husband has been such an understanding sweetheart through this. I can't believe that THIS could be what's been causing it! (I mean believe me, I didn't used to be this way, of you know what I mean *grin*). Of course, now hubby is like " wow, interesting... hhmmm, ummm and how long do they say before the medication helps? " ... I think he is marking the calendar. LMAO!!!!! I am just so amazed at how long I have been feeling like crap with all of these symptoms but never really said much to my doctor because I just assumed it was the FMS or the HCV causing it. Boy, now isn't this a reminder for all of us to always tell our doctors every little thing, whether we think it is important or not! I never would have thought to tell my doctor that my hair texture was changing, hell I just turned 40... even the hairdresser said it was common with age for changes like this to happen. Going to go do more research now... LOL M
