Guest guest
Kerry,I know what you mean on more than a couple of issues.I too have been getting my meds from my PCP,I am using only Duragesic Patches and get an attitude from his staff,I finally said look I've been a nurse for 21 years and know more than a little about pain meds and who really needs them and who doesn't and that seemed to have changed things. Also being a nurse,I too have seen what you were discussing about how a lot of docs are, especially in the E.R.I've also noticed a lot of it among nurses as well and have seen instances where nurses just don't want to take the time and effort of getting the narcotics out of lock-up and documenting it in the 3-4 places where it has to be done, they will say things like " oh,she couldn't be in that much pain, she just likes the drugs! As far as I'm concerned there should be no reason why pain meds should EVER be withheld but it happens.Hopefully all of this attention in the media and with politics help the sitiuation instead of making it worse.............Donna
