I had a yellow cast on my cheek bones and that cleared up too. My eye whites were not yellow though. I am reading through a book and it mentioned different things that is very good for the liver function. " The liver is responsible for removing toxins that can interfere with nervous system functioning, digestive processing, heart function and circulation. jExcess fat, chemicals, intoxicants and refined or processed food disrupt liver processing. Anger, nervous tension, mood swings and depression, skin problems, gall bladder problems, candida, menstrual and menopausal problems can result from poor liver function. The following dietary suggestion can supplement orthodox treatment in liver diseases such as hepatitis. WHAT TO DO: MAXIMIZE: Fruit and vegetables - Legumes and whole grains - Bitter foods and herbs with stimulate liver function - Water intake - Dandelion root tea or Root Substitute Tea (recipe in the book) MINIMIZE: Animal protein: replace with a little fish and vegetable protein. ELIMINATE: Foods that interfere with liver processing: animal fats, dairy products, eggs, refined foods, margarine, shortening, oils, except extra virgin olive oil. alcohol, processed foods. - Fried foods - Tobacco - Sugar, sweets and junk food - Toxins in non-organic food. HEALING FOODS: Fruits and vegetables: apples, blackberries, dark grapes, plums, raspberries, beets carrots, celery, leafy greens, onions tomatoes, watercress. Herbs: alfalfa, astragalus, burdock root cayenne, chicory root, dandelion root, fennel, fenugreek, German chamomile, ginger, dandelion leaf and root, lemon balm, licorice*, garlic, milk thistle, nettle leaf, parsley**, rosemary, turmeric, yellow dock root. Other: cereal grasses, flax seeds, lecithin, legumes, olive oil , sea herbs, spirulina, whole grains. *Avoid licorice in cases of high blood pressure. Prolonged use not recommended in any circumstances. **In pregnancy, limit parsley intake to 1/2 tsp. (2mL) dried herb or a sprig of fresh herb per day.
