Guest guest
Dear Group, Went up to Wheatridge yesterday and visited with , four days post op. She looks great! She's off the I.V. and Cath, and taking oral med's. She has a bit of stomach area distention, which is annoying to her. She's a bit easy to faint when up walking, hasn't done much of that yet, she'll be seeing PT today. She doesn't have to wear a brace at all. Her surgery was a bit more detailed since there was a lot of bony overgrowth. They did three hours from the front, flipped her for another two, then worked from the front again for another three. She isn't fused to the sacrum, L4-L5 still open, but they did get her entire Harrington Rod out. She is having a bit of trouble adjusting to her new body stance. Her husband is there with her, and she has a sister who lives local. Since she has small kids, she has family staying with them at their home in Montana. She'll probably go to her sisters place in Littleton for two weeks after she's released on tuesday. She'll then fly to Salt Lake, and then a second flight to Montana if she tolerates it well. I'm so glad I got to meet her, she and her husband are dear people, and were very surprised by my visit. It was good for them to see me and see how well I'm doing following surgery, gave them heart for her future. Her curve is greatly reduced, and now she has a back waist curve and despite her post surgery pain is more comfortable lying down. All in All I'd say the whole thing at this point is a great success! Her thoughts were with the others having surgery this week, and asked after them. She's in Good spirits, looks to have excellent pain control, she really misses her kids. Glad to update you all!
