Guest guest
Hey guys, I need to vent because I am SO upset right now!!!! I have been a work comp patient since 1992 (you can read my story somewhere on this website) I'm 37 years old and just had my revision surgery July 9th with wonderful results. I have been above board with all of my work comp. things and have been honest all of these years. I know that work comp people sort of get a reputation (from the insurance companies) of " working the system " . I have NEVER done ANYTHING all of these years except be honest and try and to get better. I say all of this to say - the problem I have had lately is the people that Work comp contracts out to " help " me. I know I can't put everyone in the same boat and one bad egg doesnt' make all of it rotten but let me explain what has happened to me in the last 6 months. #1 a month before my surgery - My massage therapist place (NOT the massage therapist) wrote notes on me on days that I did NOT go there and forged my massage therapist's signature to collect the money for me being there (which I was not). THEN fired my massage therapist because she knew about it and after she was fired she let me know the whole story. I of course reported it to my work comp. insurance and they said " thank you we will report it to the state, but there is so much fraud going on this will probably be put on the bottom of the list because it was a " one time " occurance (that we KNOW of). #2 My transportation company that has been driving me to and from Physical therapy picks me up late and then I hear them tell the company that contacted them out -(while I am still in the car) " I have already dropped Ms. Warren off " (we were still in my driveway) Also, they come 30 minutes late to pick me up to take me back home and tell their boss " I picked her up on time " . #3 Here is the best one!!! I have a CNA who comes to my house 3 times a week to help me out with laundry and house cleaning etc. She used to come 5 days a week for 4 hours each time. Now it's 3 times a week for 4 hours each time. I have known " " now for 5 months. I am dependent on Oxycontin and have carefully been stepping down from it since my surgery. I am now on 10 mg. 3 times a day. I have only been taking it 2 times a day. My prescription was filled on November 19 and my next pain management Dr. appt is on this Tues. On Friday I noticed 34 pills missing!!! Soooo....I set a trap for the only person that could have done it - MY CNA helper! This morning at 9:00am I had 10 pills left (not enough to last me to Tues but I was going to try and space them out) I left my pills in the bottle and double counted them to make sure there were 10 in there. I went downstairs and did my thing and when she left at 1:00 I went back upstairs and my room was spotless and I counted my pills and I have 6 left - 4 WERE MISSING! I was the only person in the house besides my 3 young boys. I reported her to the company that sends her to me and the main lady " Susie " was a little defensive. But I told her the whole story and how I had set a trap and she fell right into it. My CNA is from Columbia and can't speak English very well and so, " Susie " is going to have an interpreter with her tommorrow when she confronts " " . In the mean time - I called my doctor and told his assistant the whole story and how I needed the pills and didn't have enough to last me until Tues. and could they please write my prescription early? They called back and said If I show them a police report then they will write me another prescription. I understand that they have to protect themselves - but I am the one who is suffering over all of this. I get HORRIBLE withdrawal symptoms from this Oxycontin E R. I Sweat, and I freeze, I get diarreah, restless body syndrome, can't sleep and feel nervous. After " " is confronted tomorrow, I am going to wait and see if she will give the pills back and then I am pressing charges tomorrow. I don't know how they will " get " her because if they do fingerprints, it will show them on there and she can just say she moved it to dust or something. I sooooo wish I would have set up a camera to catch her. What if I were just out of surgery and our of it? What if I were elderly and not cognitive enough to watch for something like this? What if I were more handicapped or mentally challenged? How many of these people are being taken advantage of? How many more times have I been taken advantage of and just don't know it??? I am so frustrated! Please let this be a warning to all of us to WATCH what goes on and be WISE and CAREFUL and don't trust anyone! Thanks for letting me vent! I'll let you know what happens next.
