I'm planning on taking a trip in a couple weeks for a couple weeks and was thinking I should take along some prophylactic something or other just in case. I was thinking of taking some dandelion leaf extract with me, but may also take the cranberry pills if you think that works well. I'm not one to have many UTIs. They just started happening recently (like last November). ==>Marla, new symptoms do crop up during natural healing. For other ideas on treating UTI see the File on it that I wrote not long ago. Parsley tea is better than cranberry because it doesn't contain the sugars. > My diet has been the best it has been in all my life, so not sure why the UTI's are starting to crop up? I was thinking that since my skin has been improving and my blood counts have been improving, I " think " I should be moving in the right direction. So a bit puzzled with the recent UTIs. Maybe the candida is just moving locations? ==>Candida doesn't move locations but the bladder does have mucus membranes so candida can grow there too, but most of the candida overgrowth will still be happening in your intestines. I did run to your article recently when I got hit with the UTI again, but plan to print it out this time and definitely try that parsley tea. I may just do a rotational approach to the various things there since they're mainly just foods anyway and likely good for other things. ==>Candida doesn't move locations but the bladder does have mucus membranes so candida can grow there too, but most of the candida overgrowth will still be happening in your intestines. ~~~~>Oh, that's good to know. How about the urethra? I imagine there's some mucus lining there? I ask because when I get the UTI's it's mostly at the very end of urination that makes me feel like screaming. It's like the pain is right at the end, not deep inside anywhere like the bladder. It gets down right scary to have to go! Ha! Course you can't hold it anyway, but boy when you know you're coming to the end ya gotta grab something to hold on to! Ha ha ha! Which reminds me of another question. This might be a dumb question, but I ve read that some UTI's are caused by e-coli. So does this mean that you can keep getting the same e-coli infection over and over again? I mentioned on another post about my taking this onion soup puree, and recently was reading up on onions which mentioned that onions were effective against e-coli bacteria and salmonella. This is in Carper's book The Food Pharmacy. I wonder if my UTI is e-coli related and that's why it responded so beautifully with the onion soups. I must say that I'm sold on this onion soup puree. Garlic is said to be very good, too, but you can eat more of the onions. It's hard to do that with garlic. What's the relation with candida overgrowth and e-coli? are we more susceptible to e-coli with candida? Well, thanks again, Bee! You're a gem! All the time and effort you take to help us is most appreciated! Hugs! Marla
