Guest guest
Thanks Robin and Bee for your suggestions and information. I always learn a lot from this group, that's for sure. I paid attention to everyone's comments and suggestions over the past few months so I'm sticking to the protocol for taking probiotics during a course of antibiotics. So far I haven't had as much of a internal " war " going on as I usually feel after taking probiotics. I'm hoping that's a good sign! My body won't tolerate much in the way of probiotics, so I can only handle a small amount of yogurt once a day (no supplements alone; my body goes into allergic mode). So I don't think I am overdoing the probiotics. And my body will not tolerate any antifungals yet (can't even handle lemon juice), so I'm hoping that my body isn't getting too stressed. It seems to be coping with this Xifaxan far better than the usual kind of antibiotics. My doctor hasn't yet explained what he plans on doing in terms of dealing with SIBO. Thanks to your advice, Robin and Bee, I'll be prepared to deal with anything I don't think I can accept. And I'm trying to locate a naturopath in my area; I'll probably have to drive a distance, but it will be worth it. I'll keep you posted. Thank goodness I've learned a lot about candiasis and the correct cajdida elimination techniques! Kim M.
Guest guest
Dear Kim, You are welcome for the help. Have you considered taking a natural antibiotic instead? Have you tried powdered acidophilus, or cabbage or wheat grass rejuvelac? If your yogurt is not homemade, and sometimes even it is, it can cause problems. The small amount you are taking isn't going to be doing very much for you. And sometimes, sadly, we need to endure some symptoms. The war going on would be a normal reaction and doing enough to get past that is sometimes necessary. When I got candida this time around and started on cal-dophilus (not derived from dairy) it hurt my stomach. Taking it with meals helped a lot and now I can take it on a empty stomach with no problems. Warm regards, Bee
