Guest guest
Well I guess I am now an official member of your flatback group. Yes, I now have an official flatback syndrom dx. My consult went well and both my husband and I felt really comfortable with Dr. Moreno and liked him very much. Thanks to all of the information I have obtained here and all your posts I was well prepared for his recommendation. He said I could continue on with my pain management and not get any better or he could do surgery. His surgical recommendation since I have severe Khyposis above my rods (I am currently fused from T10 to L4) is to remove all the old hardware and replace it with new hardware extending from my upper thoracic area all the way down. He wants me to have a myelogram w/CT scan along with an MRI of my cervical spine before saying exactly what levels. I would also need the anterior/posterior approach and he does his surgeries by staging them instead of all in one day. There was certainly alot of information to absorb but I will probably move forward with the surgery if I get the same recommendation from my 2nd consult. I have been dealing with this pain for 12 years and now that someone has finally given me some hope I am ready to go for it.
