Guest guest
Just spoke with Bob - last night had to be one of the worst nights she's had so far. Jusr restless, anxious, crying in pain, nausea and vomiting all night long until they finally calmed her with some Valium IV. The Fellow came by this morning (Bob calls him Dr. Look-n- Leave)and Bob asked how they could discharge her and send her to a nursing home when she's so sick - he was told not to worry, she wouldn't be going anywhere. Until she could walk, take oral meds and have regular BM's, she'll stay right there. And Dr. Hu sent in a consult for a Gastro man who came and got some new x-rays and says things are improving. She also has a problem with her left leg - it had been weak but has improved, and now she has like nerve pain in it. They wanted to give her Neurontin but she can't take meds by mouth, so they're going to change her pain meds all around. Take the fentynal patch off, no more dilaudid, and start her on methadone as it has something for nerve pain in it also. The Gastro guy wasn't too happy about that, but oh well. The GOOD new is that, as we were speaking, let loose with a BM and it was non-stop. Just kept coming and coming. So that could be a GOOD thing. So Merry Christmas to in the hospital.......she was so concerned about that prior to surgery - she wanted to BE HOME for Christmas! :::::sigh::::: ~~
