Guest guest
Tracie, Unfortunately this is true!! No carbonated drinks anymore!!! I understand it stretches your pouch, the little stomach you now have but I have never heard it does something to the band itself. Either way no more sodas!! We are still saving your band here congratulations on learning as much as you can, I hope you will be teaching us things pretty soon! Me and my mom went to this seminar here in Texas re: the lap band to get more info. and at this seminar we were told the one and only thing that you have to give up forever is carbonated drinks, no more sodas or diet sodas etc...... They say the carbonation expands your band. Is all this true, just curious, Hi Nina, just staying in touch, hope to have my house sold in May or June and will be wanting to schedule surgery around then. Take care everyone, Tracie in Aledo, Texas (now that there are two of us from TX)

Guest guest
Congrats on not smoking, is this something that will effect the band or are you just doing it for health reasons, I don't smoke much but one good cigerete every once in a while is good for my nerves... hee hee. Anyways, I think I have gained 10 lbs since this fall when I started checking into getting the band. Isn't that horrible. Congrats on your surgery date... Guest guest
Yes, Dr Aceves said I should quit at least 10 days before the surgery. So I quit earlier so I would be past the first stages. Where's Aledo? I am in Ranger, about 1 hour and 15 min west of Fort Worth. Guest guest
Aledo is about 10 minutes west of Fort Worth, that is going to be tough giving up my diet 7 up for ever, but then again I know it will be well worth it, congrats on your surgery date, which I had one set for me, but I have to sell my house first before I have the money and that won't happen until our house we are building is almost ready, I am hoping all of this will fall somewhere in May or June at the latest. SO my summer vacation will be being spent getting surgery, (fingers crossed) take care and good luck \ Tracie in ALedo, texas
Guest guest
I read on line that to prevent bloating it's necessary to avoid chewing gum and carbonated drinks. I add baking soda to the electrolyte drink which makes it fizzy like a carbonated drink, could this be a problem like regular carbonated drinks? I can't have the lemon drink without it because of heartburn. Elyse
Guest guest
Carbonoated beverages are very bad for me, they actually cause food to stick more and is painful to drink even all by itself. It is a big no no for me. Davster > > has brought up a subject that is quite controversial - using carbonated drinks to help the food down. > > The upside is that they tend to do the trick. > The downside is that they put pressure on the oesophagus and sphincter. > In other words, it is not a gentle way to treat your oesophagus, but then neither is having to regurge food. > > So it's a bit like being between a rock and a hard place. > Decide for yourself. > > > --------------------------------- > Sent from & #45; a smarter inbox. >
