I thought that too until a couple of months ago, when I went to a colon

hydrotherapist, and she said that an enemas can be just as effective.. you

just have to work your way up to holding 4 quarts. which is a lot! i haven't

been able to get past 2 q... but they do seem to be working just as well --

i can feel the getting in at least half way through, and I do 2 quarts

twice. I did this the day of my last liver flush, and when i was taking the

epsom salts (they make you really 'runny'), it all came out clear, which

makes me think that the enema managed to clean me out completely. I also

got all sorts of weird white fuzzy things coming out (probably candida!!),

same as when i would get the hydrotherapy. s Moritz (liver cleansing)

exclusively recommends hydrotherapy, but this seems to be working just as

well for me.

It's just a really good way to jump-start the cleansing process. It's not

the solution or a cure, but it sure helps when you do it every once in a

while! I normally do the liver flush once every couple of months, so the

colon cleansing happens at the same, and I feel so light and incredible

after every one. Each time I do one, I also notice my tolerance for carbs,

stress, etc , increases a bit, and other symptoms lessen..

Re: Colon Cleanse

Thank you for this information. The reason I said enemas are only

partially effective is that it is my understanding use of enemas only

clears out the bottom 10-12 inches of the colon.

Hi,

Epsom salt in the flush does better job.

Hi maxamehc,

I presume that " a hydro-colon cleanse " is either colonic or enemas. For a colon

cleanse I would suggest a fiber/clay detox drink, some supplements and enemas or

colonics. If you are interested I can email you what I do. Its also in my blog

on CureZone. The blog is titled " my challenge " by Propaul.

I wish you a successful cleanse and a fulfilled life.

What sort of 7 day detox are you doing? Is it a fast or are you eating?

If you cannot afford to lose any weight then I would avoid doing any juice

fasting

for longer than 2 days or use some protein powder in your juices or use

afterwards

to increase you weight.

Some naturopaths recommend Nutribiotic rice protein powder.

http://www.nutribiotic.com/rice-protein-plain-21oz.html

or Sun Warrior raw protein powder.

http://www.sunwarrior.com/

You can also use Whey powder. Just make sure it is a healthy one.

Mike reviews Jay Robbs whey protein here:

http://www.naturalnews.com/001524.htm

http://www.jayrobb.com/cat_proteinWheyAll.asp

It is possible to eat very healthily and still detox if you

eat the right foods and take a supplement that has been

specifically designed to support the detox process.

This should help you avoid weight loss.

If you are going to a therapist for your hydro-colon cleanse

then he or she should give you their own instructions of how

to prepare.

Hi again & thanks.

I'm doing the 'Quick Cleanse' - Intestinal broom 7-day program with Calendula by

TNP(totally natural products) & contains an eating plan for one who is on it but

no 'after-detox' eating plan to ease back into my normal intake regime

Because it's been over 7 years or so since my last detox I wonder if 7 days is

enough? What do you advise in order for me to get the full effect? I will ask

the local healthies & research more on a specific plan so I don't lose too much

weight. I'm in australia so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks again.

HI maxamehc

This is what TNP say:

" For maximum results we would recommend you follow the Quick Cleanse® Detox

Program for 15 days. However it may be difficult for some people to find the

time for the full 15 days, that's why we have created the Quick Cleanse® 7 Day

Detox Program. If you decide to do a 7 Day Detox and are happy with the results,

we recommend that you do another 7 days immediately after completing the

program. If this is not possible, please try and do a full 15 Day Detox within 2

months of completing the 7 Day Program. Remember, detoxification is not just

about relieving constipation or losing weight. It's about getting your digestive

system in top shape and back on track. "

I think it depends on your symptoms and why you are doing the cleanse.

As for your weight if you are following the diet they list on their website then

you will still be eating a lot of food although it will be healthier.

I am surprised to see they suggest eating wholemeal sandwiches for lunch. Wheat

is one of the things normally excluded on a detox diet so bread is out.

It is hard to digest and the aim of a detox diet is to reduce the work the

digestive system has to do so more energy can go into detox.

Wheat is a common sensitivity. I would exclude all gluten grains it for best

results. You can have plenty of other grains and it is possible to find bread

made from them.

Sugar - They say you can have fruit, raw honey and rice bran syrup.

Have you seen the website?

http://www.totallynatural.com.au/quick_cleanse_detox_program_with_probiotics.htm

You ease back into a healthy diet by gradually adding back your animal proteins

one day at a time. You are already eating a lot of grains, vegetables, fruit and

fish on the detox so you should not have too much trouble. Live yogurt is

probably the best thing to add back first and then maybe a little soft goats

cheese if you like it. See how your your digestive system reacts and how you

feel. After that you can add back animal protein. A little free range chicken is

probably the easiest to digest. Make sure you chew it really well. You are

already allowed fish on the detox but just make sure it is a low mercury fish.

I don't think you should lose too much weight on this detox.

Good luck with it. Let us know how you get on.

[sPAM] colon cleanse

I'm doing the Quick cleanse 7-detox program with Calendula(the intestinal

broom) by TNP(Totally natural products). It has an eating program but little

info on how one should ease safely back into a normal eating regime. Also, it

has been at least 7 years since my last detox. Is the 7-day enough for optimal

effect or should I do a longer program but again the longer the detox, the more

weight lost?

I will research local advice as well.

On the subject of 'no sugars' what about raw & natural sugars?(manuka honey,

maple syrup, fruits etc) Are these to be avoided too?

By the way I meant to add that Calendula is in the cleanse to soothe the

digestive system.

It's the plant fibers they put in it that act as the intestinal broom.

Iv'e always known Psyllium husks to be called the intestinal broom.
