Guest guest
The best colon cleanse is a colonic. If you can't afford that, colosan is a good choice. There are a couple of things similar to colosan, but it's the least expensive. You can also consider getting a colema board, it's the next best thing to getting a colonic. The best way to detox the liver is to get the stones out. www.curezone has info on how to do that, as well as forums on cleanses to ask questions if you need to. Chang at http://www.sensiblehealth.com/index.html has products to help detox your liver too. You can call her and talk to her. She's very nice and helpful. Guest guest
A good diet and periodic fasting seems to be the basis for building health. It's more about having a healthy life style and diet than finding the right quick fix. It bugs me when people want herbs and health promoting methods to be used like drugs for a quickk fix. : -( I guess that's the way our society and the medical system has conditioned the population. *sigh* Bruce colon cleanse Can anybody tell me what the best colon cleanse or detox there is on the market to buy. As to what to put into the water -- I haven't used anything but plain water yet so I can't advise. I know others here have used some things so maybe they'll weigh in on the subject. Guest guest
The colon cleanse is the quickest and easiest way I have ever seen to heal IBS. It seems to do a very good job of vacuuming the walls, I had large chunks in my BM's of stuff. It turned my BM's black and I also saw some parasites. The activated charcoal will even remove lead, mercury, and other heavy metals from the intestinal system. Just make sure you take something to keep your bowels moving unless you have the diarrhea type of IBS or you could become constipated. Dr Schultz's #1 formula does this nicely and I also use it when I am pregnant to keep things moving in those last couple of months. My mom was 40 when she did her first colon cleanse and she lost 10 pounds that week, 5 pounds stayed off and her belly was flatter so she lost 5 pounds of fecal matter from her colon. It definitely does some evacuation. It is so inexpensive and easy I think it would be great if everyone made a point to do one a couple of times a year. I was just looking at a site that had a Dr. 's colon cleanse. It said it vacuumed the walls of the colon also and had some of the same ingredients you listed. I was considering this. It said it really helped with IBS and colitis, etc. The colon cleanse really helps you? Did you notice a big difference or a lot of, uh, evacuation..lol when you did it? I was debating on trying it. Guest guest
> The colon cleanse is the quickest and easiest way I have ever seen to > heal IBS. It seems to do a very good job of vacuuming the walls, I had > large chunks in my BM's of stuff. Unfortuanately this won't prduc results for very many people with IBS. Most cases of IBS have bowel dysbiosis (bad bacterial fluorish) that has also spread to the upper intestine. The condition, known as SIBO - Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth, is marked by reduced flow through the upper intestine, which allows time for food fermentation to occur there when it shouldn't. Bowel cleansing does not address dysbiosis or SIBO at all, and it doesn't even touch the upper intestine, the seat of the problem. Inulin, on the other hand, corrects the gut dysbiosis, and the short chain fatty acids created by favourable gut bacteria hav the effect of causing the bowel peristalsis to normalize slower, and the intestinal peristalsis to normalize to be faster. This corrects the inordinately slow passage of contents through the upper intestine, where this is not caused by a constriction. I think there are enough keywords in that for further research. Guest guest
One of the things my naturopath recommended doing for bowel detoxing was to empy my magnesium capsules into very hot water and drink that a couple of times a day. There were other things to do along with that and I don't remember what they were but the hot mg drink was key.
Guest guest
, taking magnesiun is useful including for loosening stool, but not a detoxifier. Preventing toxin load by avoiding inflamnmation and dietary toxins, reducing toxins produced in the bowel, and adding things to the diet that directly reduce inflammation and handle toxins or free radicals, THOSE are detoxifiers. Guest guest
Here's what I do / have done for colon cleansing / getting the intestines going: - Juice of 1 lemon (fresh squeezed) with a pint of warm water every morning - Sometimes I alternate that with a pint of apple juice with apple cider vinegar (not great if your candida is in a particularly bad state) - Colon hydrotherapy before and after a liver flush (although I've switched to enemas, less expensive).. another reason why I like the liver flush is that the epsom salts also really clean you out. (I mix it with apple juice so it's not as disgusting tasting). - For a while I did psyllium + bentonite clay shakes. I started getting headaches after a while, not sure if it was detox reaction or an allergy, but I haven't done them in a while. They were quite good at cleaning out my system. The bentonite clay is supposed to help absorb toxins, and the psyllium help 'scrub' the intestines. I found a source of plain psyllium, no added herbs or anything, and the price was quite economical. It might be worth a try, especially at the beginning, to get your system going. - Biggest obstacle to proper intestine functioning for me was sugar and chocolate - I get instantly constipated when I eat too much of either. - Same thing happens if I don't eat enough raw and cooked veggies during the day - very important!! At the moment the lemon juice / apple juice has been the best thing to keep me functioning well. I would really recommend it, as they have other added benefits. Guest guest
My candida is in a bad state. I am very strictly following the diet of no sugars or grains, no dairy except butter, only meat, fish fowl, recommended veggies, eggs and good fats/oils. I don't know why but when I've tried lemon drinks I end up getting light-headed so I stopped drinking them. I'm just getting over a bout of bad skin rashes and sores and now fighting a bad case of oral thrush (again) with swollen lips and cheek on one side of my face. If I could get my bowels cleaned out and functioning, I think I might have less toxins trying to get out through my skin, etc. Enemas are only partially effective at removing waste. Magnesium (which I take daily) moves things out (diarrhea-like) but if I don't take it, I can't go at all. Is a liver cleanse something one would do before a colon cleanse, or after? And how do you do a liver cleanse. And what do you thing about parasite cleanses. I'm just so frustrated right now. The whole month of Oct I was feeling really good without too many adverse symptoms. In Nov I've been up and down, then the skin rashes and now the thrush. Any advice other than colon cleansing to get some of these toxins and waste out. Thanks. Guest guest
What are good antioxidants in food sources and supplements? Does Ester C help with toxin load too? Thanks! Doing that will also increase your metabolic rate so your body has a better chance at moving/removing toxin load. Also, reducing salt and increasing potassium will improve oxygen delivery to the cells and this assists toxin metabolism. Exercise vigorously and/or go on a rebounder to move the lymph as best you can to move toxins out. Also, liver flushes may help. I think once you get the toxin load down you'll feel much more comfortable and your body will respond well to the biological support in many ways. Guest guest
Gail, are you feeding your probiotic bowel culture inulin, so it has a fighting chance at controlling the bad organisms and candida? Guest guest
Yes I just read some articles on this. I think I recall the amounts on equivalents. They said 10 minutes of rebounding is the equivalent of 30 minutes of jogging. And if you do 5 minutes at a time several times a day you are reaping massive benefits too. Guest guest
Most foods contain antioxidants or their precursors, vitamin C, resveratrol, beta-carotenes, selenium, bonded cysteine etc.. some more than others. Ester C would help, yes, and so will ascorbic acid as your vitmin C source. If you're into detail, the book the Miracle of Antioxidants by Dr. White and Dr. McLeod details what each one does and how they work together. It's a useful and complete reference. Guest guest
Gail, if you do any exercise it's probably more than half do. I suggested a rebounder because it moves lymph something like 14x better than jogging, it's time-effective for lymph, it's also low- impact, you can do it sitting down, and the cells can't tell the difference beween acceleration and work, so everything tones, even wattles under the neck and under the upper arms, muscles and connective tissue that was not used in the exercise itself. Guest guest
Dear Gail, You can find more information on a liver flush at curezone: http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/default.asp The basic idea behind the liver flush is that as toxins build up in the body (bad diet, lack of exercise, parasites, chemicals, etc) the liver isn't able to hand the load, and the toxins build up inside the liver, creating stones, and keeping the liver from functioning properly. The liver flush is a way to get rid of these stones (in both the liver and the gallbladder), and consists of drinking a comination of apple juice, epsom salts, olive oil, grapefruit juice over a period of 12 hours. Sounds a bit disgusting but so many people have gotten relief (and even 'cured') from this! There is also a support forum on curezone where you can post questions. You would first do a parasite cleanse, then colon cleanse, then liver flush (ideally). I don't believe that colon cleansing by itself will solve the candida problem, on the other hand if your colon has lots of build up and you're not eliminating very well, you won't get better unless you can decrease the toxic load in your colon. For some people, it's a colon cleanse (and it's easy and cheap)! Both the colon and the liver cleanses go on the same principle- you can't get better if you can't get rid of the toxins or the candida you're killing. They just get reabsorbed and keep poisoning you. So you're right, one of the first things to do is to get the bowels working. Why do you say enemas are only partially effective? Many people find them to be quite effective. I only do them when I do a liver flush, but that seems to be enough. The parasite cleanse was actually one of the few things that I did that helped get rid of my candida, and in a very short period of time. More info here: http://curezone.com/clark/parasites.asp asli Re: Colon Cleanse My candida is in a bad state. Guest guest
Thank you for this information. The reason I said enemas are only partially effective is that it is my understanding use of enemas only clears out the bottom 10-12 inches of the colon.
