Thanks for the suggestion. You made me " research " this, and it seems that sometimes you are not acidic enough, instead of the better-known opposite condition. I found this, for what it's worth: http://www.thorne.com/altmedrev/fulltext/hcl.html http://www.rheumatic.org/hcl.htm I'm not running out to buy hydrochloric acid, but the possible explanation is worth having in mind. Guest guest
I use Betaine Hydrochloride by Natural Factors. It was inexpensive $6 verses another one at 20 or 30, and I found it very helpful. After taking it for a short time I noticed that I no longer needed to take it every meal, si I just take it with higher protein meals. Guest guest
Helge, Thank you for the links. I have tried this digestive aid and didn't get any changes. Your link has helped me to consider to try again. By the one link mentioning about the dosage to use. My doctor told me that if I wanted to try it, buy 10 mg tablets and increase it until your stomach burns and then cut back 1 tablet. BUT! I cannot find it in 10 mg tablets. This article explains that 60mg is equal to 1grain. So, if what he meant was 10 grains I have to try this again. I have candida overgrowth for some reason. The tablets I found says it has 60 mg of Hcl in it along with pepsin, can you imagine how many I have to take just to get up to 10 grains? If anyones knows of a good source of Hydrochloric acid please let me know.
